With a reputation as the 'City of Fantasy and Romance', the charming beaches and nature-blessed resorts of Lianyungang attract tourists from many other cities.

Natural Beauties & Culture Relics
Lianyungang is acclaimed to be the hometown of the Monkey King, the hero of the famous Chinese classical novel Journey to the West. The Huaguoshan Scenic Spot (the Flowers and Fruits Mountain), 7 kilometers (4 miles) east of downtown Lianyungang, is said to be the place where the Monkey King was born. Some fantastic scenes from the novel can be found on this mountain such as the intriguing water curtain cave.

East of Huaguoshan, the Yuwan Scenic Area, located 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) away from the urban area, reveals amazing scenery such as year-round running water falls, remarkable rocks, and dangerous cliffs. Moreover, the Jinping Mountain Scenic Area three kilometers (1.9 miles) southwest of the downtown area has not only lovely green hills and clear waters but also many renowned cultural relics. The Kongwang Mountain Cliffside Images, the oldest of its kind in China, and the Jiangjunya Petroglyphs, the unique ancient rock paintings found along the Chinese coastline are found here.

Holiday & Health Resorts
In Lianyungang, the numerous bathing beaches feature clear water and soft, sunny sand and are a highlight of this coastal city. On the largest island of Jiangsu province, the Liandao Island Bathing Beach has the largest natural sand beach in Jiangsu and will satisfy your eagerness for exciting water sports. In addition, Lianyungang has the No.1 Hot Spring in East China in the Hot Spring Tourism Zone. It lies 17 kilometers (10.6 miles) northwest of Donghai County, 'the County of Crystal'. The hot water is full of minerals that can help improve people's health.
