Thank you for your inquiry.

There is no obvious difference for this short trip. G type is the fastest type and C type is designed for short trip, however, for this short trip, the duration is almost the same. You can just choose the suitable time and stations for this trip.

Our flight from Malaysia will arrive at 2100. After custom clearance and luggage claim, what do you suggest for us to take to go to beijing? We plan to go to beijing by high speed train. But,if I'm not mistaken, last shuttle bus & normal bus services to the train station is around 1900. Direct bus from airport to beijing also not available at the time of our arrival. Please advise me on this. Your help is much appreciated. TQ

I think the shuttle bus to Tongsha bus station (next to the railway station) should be after the landing of final flight. Also, the final metro line 2 runs at 22:54pm from Binhai airport to Tianjin Raiwlay Station diretion. You can use any of them to catch a nornal train at 2:21am from Tianjin Railway Station to Beijing West, you will reach Beijing around 4:30am.

The last bullet train is at 11pm, the time is almost not possible for your flight. You can only take the train for next day. The earliest one is at 5:40am from Tianjin West Station. To West Station, you can only use metro line 2 + line 6, no shuttle bus anymore.
Asked by James from UNITED STATES | Jul. 07, 2019 00:37Reply
How/where do I buy bullet train tickets, and where to get off at Tianjin to visit all tourist spots?
Do I need to buy tickets in advance or just buy them at South Beijing Stations?

Can I also use the metro card for tickets as well?
Thank you

Both options are OK. If you are not in a hurry, you can buy it at station directly. If you prefered to have a ticket at confirmed time, it is better to book one in advance. If you want to visiting the tourist sports near city center, the main station, Tianjin Station should be better to stop at.

metro card cannot work for train.
