Only the luxury soft sleeper cabin is for 2 passengers, but for the Lhasa route, I think there seems no such class available. The best one should be soft sleeper cabin for 4 passengers.

How much is the train ticket from Beijing to Lhasa for the trip on Oct 9, 2014?
1. Since its China's National Holiday, is the ticket price valid for Oct 9, 2014?
2. How are we going to book the ticket?
3. How are we going to claim our tickets?

Only one train is in service for the trip - T27. It costs CNY360/US$59 for a hard seat and CNY763-1,186/US$125-194 for a sleeper. The price for China rails generally doesn't change, so it is of course valid for the National Holiday.

I recommend you book the tickets online in advance through Travel China Guide. Here is their email for your reference: bookingtravelchinaguide.com
After booking a ticket from them, you can show your passport to get a tciket in the railway station on your departure date. Besides, if you pay a little delivery fee, they would deliver your ticket to ur hotel in Beijing once you stay in one.

How Can I go Lhasa to Kathmandu? I want to go see Lhasa and then go Kathmandu.
I am currently in Shanghai, and want to go my home through train via Shanghai-Lhasa-Kathmandu.

It is impossible to travel from Lhasa to Kathmandu for foreigners, because foreigners need to join a tour group to enter that place with a Tibet Travel Permit.

You are suggested to join a tour to visit Lhasa and then go back to Chengdu, where you can fly to Kathmandu directly.

Hope it helps ~

hello. I'm wondering if I book the soft sleeping bed with three people, would it be able to use one room just with them.
I'm quite worried about sleeping with strangers. I hope if I book the ticket, it would be albe to just use a room with my friends.
Also, how's meal on the train? Is is okay just to rely on the train for meal?

I'm afraid it is very hard for your companions to share one room for booking or purchasing the tickets 'cause the tickets are all radomly chosen by the computer.

As for the meal on the train, it will be fine. You can rely on that, but it is a little expensive than usual/common places.
