Dear Sir, How much is the transportation cost from beijing airport to badaling wall?how many hours?
Sep. 7,2009 23:11 Mr.Peter replied:
Hi, which transportation you will take from beijing airport to badaling wall? By taxi? subway? or bus?
when you arrive in beijing, you can go to Deshengmen Gate, where there are no.919 bus to badaling. The ticket costs 12 yuan and the journey costs about one hour.
kumusta? we just came from Beijing last saturday from qingdao. from the airport, we took the bus going to xidan for Tiananmen Square and Gugong (Forbidden Kingdom). From there, we took a taxi (18rmb) to Deshengmen. We were told to get bus 919 but somebody met us and he said most buses take about 3 hours. Express buses take about an hour but only start at 6AM and 9AM with more than 50 passengers. this im not sure coz he offered his SUV at 500 rmb from there to badaling then we spent 2 hours and brought us to the subway in beijing. we had to take it since i had to get back to qingdao that same evening. MY SUGGESTION: if you are not in a rush and want to save, take the early bus at deshengmen going to Badaling. It will give you enough time to tour around the great wall. then you can get back by bus 919 or take private cars going back to beijing central at 200 rmb. there are lots of drivers waiting there offering you a ride. try more than 5 drivers and negotiate half their prize.hope this will help.

We rented a Van going to Badaling Great Wall and they charged us for RMB 1,300.00. The driver picked us up from the hotel located in Xidan North Ave. then we proceeded to Ming Tombs for our 1st stopped and thereafter we went to the Great Wall. Do you think this cost us much? But we are thankful to the driver for driving us safe and dropped us very near to the entrance about 50meters. Actually, it's very very traffic as we approached the Badaling Great Wall and we saw hundreds and hundreds of people walking on the road just to reach the entrance of about 1km. i think...i'm not sure but it's a little bit far from the entrance. But our driver was able to manage by overtaking those less than a hundred of buses and other vehicles, it was pretty much a good idea otherwise we will also walked more than 1km. just to reach the entrance. lol... It's summer and the climate is not so good for a long walked. It's worth more than a RMB1,300 as we saw the magnificent GREAT WALL!!!

And then take bus no. 919 Fast from Deshengmen to Badaling. Good Luck :)

TIME TRAVEL in Yuan Dynasty?
In the second paragraph it is written that this section was "built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)". I continued to read the text and in the last but one paragraph came across the following: "The first emperor of the Qin Dynasty toured there, Yuan Taizu, the first emperor of Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) passed the Badaling Great Wall, ..."
How could the Yuan emperor pass the Badaling Great Wall if this had only been erected more than 100 years later? Time travel?
Jul. 29,2009 02:47 Mr.Coco replied:
Hi, Mr.Markus,
You can read the third para. which talks about the history of Badaling Great Wall. Badaling was built and used as a fortification as early in Qin Dynasty. It is repaired many times in the following dynasties, and the biggest repairation was in Ming Dynasty.
Sep. 2,2009 05:27 Ms.Lim replied:
not to be patronising... but the great wall construction started as early as 8th century BC and underwent constructions & repairs continously (as noted by Mr.Coco). Badaling is but one of the numerous stations of the entire wall which at one time (perhaps the warring states) would not have been the continuous wall as we see today.

Of course there is a tour you can join to visit Badaling Great Wall. You can go to Beijing Hub of Tour Dispatch, and choose Line C: Badaling Great Wall - Waxwork Museum. It is located to the south of Tiananmen Square. The ticket costs 100 kuai for adult and 80 kuai for child. The bus leaves from 08:30 to 11:30 as soon as the bus is full. The whole trip is 9 hours. The ticket price includes Entrance fee, bus fare and lunch, but you have to pay additionally 40 kuai for the entrance of the Waxwork Museum.
That' all I know about what to do for badaing visit. Hope it helps!
