Line 6: Wulu ↔ Dongxiaoying  (Identification Color: pink      )

Almost parallel to Subway Line 1, Beijing Subway Line 6 will be a main artery crossing Beijing City from east to west. With a total length of 41.74km, Line 6 will be longer than any other lines under operation or construction in Beijing at present. Line 6 starts from Wulu of Haidian District in the west to Dongxiaoying in the east, passing Linglong Road, Sanlihe Road, Chaoyangbei Road. Line 6 will mitigate transportation pressure of Line 1. As is reveled, Line 6 is expected to set express sections. For instance, it will drop small stations in rush hours in order to reach downtown area directly. The speed will reach as fast as 80 to 100km per hour.

An insider said that the first phase of Line 6 from Wulu to Caofang is estimated to be finished in 2012 and the section from Hujialou to Caofang will under pilot operation in 2011.

 Line 7

The construction work of Beijing Subway Line 7 is to be started in the end of year 2009 and planned to be finished in 2014. It stretches as long as 23.67km with 23 stations. It passes 4 districts, namely Fengtai, Xuanwu, Chongwen, and Chaoyang. Subway Line 7 will be the first line that connects Beijing West Railway Station. What's more, related authority demonstrated that line 7 will be the one with shortest distance between two stations compared with other lines under operation.
