Ferryboats run between Xiamen Island and Gulangyu Island. It takes only five minutes and costs CNY 8 per person for a round trip.

The first departure from Xiamen Island is at 5:45 a.m. Ferry service from Gulangyu Island begins at 5:30 a.m. The ferryboats leave every ten minutes between 7:00 – 8:30, 11:30 – 12:30, 13:30 – 14:30, 17:00 – 18:30 and every 15 minutes during other periods during the day. There are also liners at night every 20 minutes until midnight. Please note that rush-hour ferryboats between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and in the afternoon between 13:30 and 14:30 are not available on Sunday.
