Dunhuang Movie Set and Yellow River Stone Forest
Dunhuang Movie Set

Dunhuang Movie Set is located halfway between the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Spot and the ancient city of Yongtai (Turtle City). It is the first movie set in China steeped in native Dunhuang culture. Its main scenic spots include the Ancient Street of Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 – 1911) Dynasties, Fulong Store, Guyi Shop and Yichun Garden. The replica of Mogao Grotto is the most beautiful place on the lot, built to 1:1 ratio with the original. There are 108 caves distributed among three layers. In order to highlight the western region's unique character, the movie set is dotted with red willows and oleaster trees.

Since its opening, Dunhuang Movie Set has attracted many filmmakers to shoot here. For example, the movie "Xuehua Nage Piao" (Flying Snowflakes) and the TV serial "Da Dunhuang" (Great Dunhuang) are shot on this set. Use of the set is free for making any films or television shows related to Dunhuang.

Yellow River Stone Forest

Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Spot is located in Longwan Village in Jingtai District of Baiyin City, Gansu Province. It was formed by the rising of the Earth's crust. Just as beautiful as the famous Stone Forest of Yunnan, Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Spot is composed of many sand stalagmites and stone pillars in various sizes and shapes. The fabulous scenes reflect the prodigious craftsmanship of nature's creation. People have imaginatively given many peaks vivid names, such as "Lovers under the Moon", "The Goddess Looks at the Moon", "Qu Yuan Asks Heaven" and "A Gleam of Sky".

The Chinese Mother River – the Yellow River flows through the stone forest scenic spot, adding dynamic beauty to the landscape. Together with the surrounding deserts, oases and farms, Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Spot has become a location for many famous Chinese movies and television plays. Attracted by its imposing, wild, and secluded views, more and more visitors come here for sightseeing, and exploration, seeking novelty and recreation.
