Going to Foshan by boat is a wonderful idea, as visitors can admire the scenery along the river. Located in the back portion of the Pearl River Delta, waterway transportation has always been crucial to the transportation industry of the city. There are seventy-six waterways in Foshan creating an inland shipping route of over 1,350 kilometers (839 miles). Many of the ports in its five districts have been integrated into the Port of Foshan. It plays an important role in freight, but its passenger transport function has always been small.
