Whether it is by air, train, sea or road, transportation system in Beihai is fairly developed. Every week there are more than 130 scheduled flights to and from major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. It is more convenient for tourists to fly from other cities to Beihai. Due to its seaside location, train transportation in Beihai is very limited and there are only regular trains between Beihai and Nanning. However, sea transportation is very convenient and there are regular ships and cruise ships to Hainan, Weizhou Island. Road transportation, on the other hand, covers Guangxi and Guangdong provinces with two National Highways, numbered 209 and 325 which pass through Beihai City.

There are three main modes of transport within Beihai City, namely, taxi, city bus and pedicab. Among these, the pedicab is rather interesting as one gets to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way while riding on one. Motorbike is yet another mode available and one can go anywhere with it easily.
