By City-bus
Nanning has over 2,000 city buses shuttling in all corners of the city. The operating hours are from 06:15 -23:00. Visitors can find detailed information including the departure and stop times, the bus route and passing directions on each station of the specific bus.
For most of the buses, the ticket price is CNY1 for non-conditioned buses and it costs CNY2 for the ring road routes and air-conditioned buses. As most of the city buses have no conductors, please remember to prepare loose change before you get on a bus. Few special lines charge CNY3 or CNY5.
To some scenic spots of Nanning, special tourist lines are available too. For Example:
To Mt. Daming: There are tourist buses departing from Xiaojinshan Square in middle section of Chaoyang Road at 09:00 straightforward to the scenic area. The whole course takes three hours and cost CNY30. They come back from the gate of scenic area at 15:00 – 16:00.
To Mt.Qingxiu: Chaoyang Square has special tourist buses to the mountain area and buses No.10, 34, Line 1 and Line 2 along the ring road around the city.
To Xijiao Zoological Park: Visitors can take Xixiangtang Special Line, buses Nos.4, 207 and 33. To Guangxi Museum: Take Bus No.6 and get off at the Minzu Gucheng Lukou. The museum is just at the opposite of the city bus station.
To Shimen Forest Park: Nos. 6, 25, 39, 42, 45, 52, 76, 90, 206, 213
To Natural History Museum of Guangxi: No.14 can take you to the museum that is inside the People's (Renmin) Park.
To Guangxi Minorities Relic Museum: Bus Nos. 11, 23, 30, 33, 205
To Nanning Conference & Exhibition Center: Bus Nos. 6, 19, 29, 34, 42, 76, 211, 213, Line 1 along the ring road
To Jiuquwan Hot Spring: First take Bus No.24 and take off at the Jinqiao Stop and than transfer to Bus No.22 to the spring resort.
By Taxi
Taxies in Nanning are red or green in color. There are taxi stops along most of the main streets, where you can summon those which display a 'For Hire' sign. The charge for taxies depends on the different logos. For ordinary ones, the flat rate is CNY5-CNY6 for the first two kilometers (about 1.2 miles); then CNY1.2 for each extra kilometer. For those well equipped ones, the flat rate is CNY7 and distance surcharge is from CNY1.6 to CNY2. For all types of taxis, you will need to pay CNY1 for the fuel surcharge regardless how far you go. Complaint phone numbers can usually be found in eye-catching places in a taxi.
