I am travelling from Sydney to Taipei with a 10 hour layover in Haikou (5am to 3pm).
Can I do a quick day trip outside of the airport (I have a Philippine passport). If so, can you recommend some tourist spots?

Thank You!

As I know, you can enjoy the 24 hours visa free policy because your stopover is only 10 hours. You can go downtown area. But you need to apply for the Stay Permit at the airport first of all.

We are in Haikou but we can't find a way to see the area around.
Do you have any ideas what to do? Are there any organized day-trips? Would it be a good idea to take a local bus or a train to an interesting place? Which one? It's no option for us to hire a care because of the traffic here.

Hi, dear! You may go to see Dongzhai Harbor Mangrove Natural Reserve Area, Holiday Beach, Tomb of Hai Rui, and Temple of Five Lords. Also, there are many organized day tours available. You can join one through your hotel.

Or, you can take a bullet train to Sanya (about 2 hours). Then, you can enjoy the Asian Dragon Bay, Dadonghai, and Wuzhizhou Island. :)
