Opened in 1996, Yichang Sanxia Airport (YIH) is one of the most important airports in Central China. It is located in Xiaoting District 26 kilometers (16 miles) from Yichang city center. The airport occupies an area of 3966.4 mu (653.4 acres) and the runway is 2,600 meters (1.62 miles) long. 24 domestic airlines use the airport, offering convenience to travelers by covering most of the big cities of China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xian, Zhengzhou. In addition, there is one charter airline to Hong Kong and three international airlines to Toyama, Nagoya and Niigata.

6 shuttle buses run from the airport to Qingjiang Hotel in the city center. The buses run all day round whenever there is a schedule flight arriving at the airport. The whole journey takes about 50 minutes for a fare of CNY20. The shuttle bus leaves Qingjiang Hotel two hours ahead of each flight. For the visitors who want to get to the airport, they can catch the bus there for free.

Tips:
1. Luggage packing is in the hall of the first floor at a cost of CNY10 each.
2. To make sure you can board on your plane in time, please get to the airport 1.5 hours in advance.
