The development of Changchun's motorways is relatively fast. At the present time there are three highways starting from Changchun and are to Siping, Jilin and Yingchengzi respectively. Among these three, the one to Siping connects with the Liaoning highway; therefore cars can reach Shenyang, Dalian and Beijing directly. In addition two national roads, 102 and 302 pass through Changchun, which makes transportation here very convenient. Five long-distance bus stations are located in the City with long-distance bus routes radiating out all over Jilin Province and also reach many cities outside Jilin Province such as Hangzhou, Taiyuan, Jiamusi, Wulanhaote, etc.

Hi, I am planning to be in Changchun in Dec and will spend a few days there. After that, I intend to go from Changchun to Harbin. Can you kindly advise the best way for transport to Harbin since I will travelling with with my family of 5? After that, I will need to get back to Beijing and is there any better way to get to Beijing? Flights or train or coaches(bus)? Thanks.

Mr.Frankie replied:
From Changchun to Harbin: there are many trains for your choice. The fastest train takes no more than 2 hours on the way.
From Harbin to Beijing: please take a flight to Beijing Capital Airport directly. Both of the train and bus will take a long time.

Mr.James replied:
If you want to get the train from Shanghai to Changchun, you should go to Shanghai Railway Station. Pudong Airport bus Line 5 can take you to the train station and needs about 1.5 hours. If you want to tavel faster, you can take maglev train (within 10 minutes)to Longyang Road, change to Subway Line 2 to People's Square and then change to Line 1 to Shanghai Railway Station (half a hour or so). There are two trains there running to Changchun, K56(9:27am), K516 (11:10am), the ticket price is about 450RMB for hard sleeper, 680-700RMB for soft sleeper. The whole journey takes 30 hour. You can check the fligh info, if the price is not high for you, you can consider to travel by air.

Ms.Wong replied:
Do you mean Jilin city or Jilin Province. There is not fligts info from Beijing to Jilin City. Beijing to Changchun (the capital city of Jilin Province)flights are easy found. Time is about 1 hour 40 minutes. Beijing has flight to Chifeng and Hohhot of Inner Mongolia. No idea if there are flights from Jilin. Hope it helps more or less. :)

We are planning a trip for Changchun? Are there any direct flights from Hong Kong to Changchun? Thanks so much!

Mr.Lee replied:
Last July, the Jilin Branch of Southern Airlines commenced a nonstop direct service linking Hong Kong with Changchun. The round-trip flights operate once a week, on Thursdays. Previously, there were direct flights between Hong Kong and Changchun. Later, the route changed to Changchun-Changsha-Hong Kong airway, which continues flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There are now three two-way flights per week operating between the two places. The nonstop service cuts travel time by one hour and twenty minutes.
