As for Kunming to Lhasa, there is no bus or train between them. So, I'm afraid that you have to take a flight.

Hi, it only takes no more than two hours from kunming city center to Shilin by bus. However, suggest you buy a day tour to get there, for it is harder to get back to Kunming city by bus. If you can take part in a tour, the expense os much fewer. One day for the two sights is enough. Xishan is 30 minutes from Kunming (Bus 6, or 51) and take a cable car to admire the Dianchi Lake. You can take 10, 71 or take taxi (20-30 rmb) to Golden Temple. The expo garden also has cable ways to thoe two scenic spots. Good luck!

The Kunming South Bus Station (aslo Nanyao Bus Station) has buses to Lijiang from 07:00 to 18:00 hourly. After 18:00, there are five overnight buses leaving here for Lijiang. They depart at 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00. The fare is about 158yuan to 190yuan. The journey takes 8 to 10 hours.
