I will be needing to get to and back from Ningbo from Pudong airport.
1. Any suggestions as to how I should get there and also the quickest way.

2. I have a 9am flight out of Pudong on a Sunday but I will be in Pudong until then.
Does anyone know a) if there is a bus service that runs early enough for me to catch my flight. b) how much would it cost for me to hire a taxi to get me from Ningbo to Pudong airport?

Oct. 9,2009 04:52
Mr.Frankie replied:

Since your flight leaves early, so please rent a cab driving you from Ningbo to Shanghai Pudong Airport. The suggested fare is about 400RMB. As for back to Ningbo from Pudong, you could take the shuttle bus Line 7 to Shanghai South Railway Station. Then, please catch a bus at the bus station here to Ningbo directly.

Hello everyone

In the information above i find a info
"Shanghai has introduced tourist shopping buses bound for Yiwu (a famous wholesale market of small articles in China) of Zhejiang Province. Every morning at 7:00 a bus starts from People's Square of Shanghai and Yiwu respectively. It reaches the destination within three hours and returns at 17:00."

1- How to get ticket and what is cost of that ?
2- 17:00 leave from yiwu o arrive shanghai ?

pls give info enable me to book it

Sep. 28,2009 23:19
Mr.Frankie replied:

Actually, I don't think that you have to catch this bus which is very limited by time. Currently, there are frequent buses and trains running between Shanghai and Yiwu everyday. It is much easier than this special bus. Take the bullet train between Shanghai and Yiwu for example, it just takes about 2.5 hours on the way with a fare of CNY96/adult.

Hallo,

Could you tell me how to get to Zhangjiagang from Shanghai Pu Dong Airport in detail, since I'm going to have a visitor but I'm actually still new in China (1 week).
And of course how to get to Shanghai, Su Zhou from Zhangjiagang?

Thank you very much for the help

Sep. 28,2009 23:14
Mr.Shan replied:

Currently, the Pudong Airport supplies four buses to Zhangjiagang everyday, respectively at 12:50, 14:40, 15:40 and 17:40. The fare is 122RMB.

If you miss them, Please take the airport shuttle bus Line 5 (CNY22) to reach Shanghai Railway Station. At the north square of the railway station, you could catch a bus to Zhangjiagang from 06:10 until to 19:13 with an interval of 20 minutes. The fare is CNY52/adult.

From Zhangjiagang to Shanghai, you could take the bus at the same bus station as above. Here, you also could catch direct bus to Suzhou South Bus Station (06:45~17:30) or Suzhou North Bus Station (06:00~18:30). The fare is just CNY25.

Hi!
Im planning to travel to Jiangyin City. Just want to ask advise how to go there from Pudong, Shanghai?

Sep. 25,2009 01:08
Mr.Jamie replied:

From Pudong New Area or Pudong Airport?! Pudong airport has buses to Jiangyin or Wuxi (Buses to Jiangyin from Wuxi are many and leave every few minutes). If you are in Pudong New Area, take public transportation to Shanghai Long-distance Bus Terminal in ZHongxing Road or Shanghai South Bus Station. There are many buses to Jiangyin (about 2.5 hours).

I'm planning to take the 09:40am bus from Shanghai South Railway Station 上海汽车南站(石龙路)to Tunxi on 02 Oct 09. Please advise whether I'll need to pre-book my bus ticket now or I can still buy my bus ticket when I arrive in Shanghai on 25 Sep 09. If I need to pre-book now how can I do it? Thanks

Sep. 21,2009 23:20
Mr.Frankie replied:

Usually, you could buy the bus ticket 3 days in advance at the bus station. Since you will travel during the National Holiday when more buses will be put into use, so you could purchase a ticket easily on Oct 02 when you arrive at the bus station. And. there should be more than one buses leaveing for Tunxi around 09:40.

Sep. 23,2009 02:42
Mr.Chinook(Singapore) replied:

Thank you so much for this value information, I was so worry of the National Holiday period that the bus tickets may be taken up very fast.
Do you have any recommendation whether I should from Tunxi (07 Oct 09) to go Nanjing or Wuxi to spend 1 day before going back to Shanghai for my flight back to Singapore on 09 Oct 09. Or there may be a better city in between Tunxi and Shanghai that I can explore and that the bus route connect easily. Appreciate so much for your value feedback. Thanks

Sep. 23,2009 04:56
Mr.Frankie replied:

Sorry Chinool, I have made a mistake about Tunxi and other places. The bus ticket to Tunxi will be needed urgently, especially during National Holiday. So, of possible, please book your bus ticket as early as possible.

It is suggsted that you take a bus from Tunxi to Hangzhou directly. Althoug there are direct buses to Nanjing, the transportation between Hangzhou and Shanghai is much easier by train and bus than between Shanghai and Nanjing.

Ms.REBE(Singapore) said:

I read about Shanghai South Bus Station where I can supposedly take an express bus to Tunxi. So, where is this station exactly? Is the Shanghai South Bus Station the same as the Hutai Road Long-Distance Bus Station?

Other questions:
1. I am getting a friend to pre-buy the bus tickets. Can somebody tell me the exact bus number and what are the possible departure times for the express bus?

2. what is the price? Is there a special price for seniors (65 years and above)?

3. please give me the Chinese name of the bus station where my friend can go buy the bus tickets. He does not understand what I mean by Shanghai SOuth Bus Station.

4. Is it necessary to pre-buy bus tickets or is it "dangerous" to buy them on the same day of departure. I plan to leave on 28/9 to Tunxi and was told that it is near public holiday and big crowds are expected for Huangshan.

Please help urgently. Thanks!

Sep. 16,2009 01:24
Mr.James replied:

They are different bus stations. Shanghai SOuth Bus Station is next to SHanghai South Railway Station. Hutai Road Bus Station is not far away from Shanghai Railway Station.
To other questions:
1. The bus leaves for Tunxi leaves at 7:40, 9:40 and 15:15. You can jsut tell what time do you want to leave.
2. The ticket price is about 110RMB. No special for the seniors.
3. 上海汽车南站(石龙路), you can see Shanghai South Railway Station from the exit of the bus station.
4. The holiday begins Oct 1. It will be not very dangerous to buy the same day. You may come ealier.

Also, if you could please tell me the cost, how often it runs, and if I can purchase my ticket the day I leave, or if I should get it in advance. Thank you!

Sep. 16,2009 01:05
Mr.James replied:

You can get from SOuth Bus Station of Shanghai near SOuth Railway Station to Zhangjiagang Gangcheng Bus Station or Long-distance Bus Station. There are a dozen buses from 06:20-16:40. The whole journey is about 2.5 hours and the ticket fare is about 60RMb. No need to buy ticket once day before. Just get to buy it the same day as leaving.
