Mr.Jamie replied:

Taizhou is about 280 kms away from Shanghai, so the easiest way is to take a bus from Shanghai to Taizhou. At Shanghai Passenger Transport Terminal (located at Shanghai South Railway Station), you could catch a bus to Taizhou from 06:50 to 17:20 everyday. The journey is about 4~5 hours and takes about 90RMB/person

Mr.James replied:

Hi. I guess the place of Jiangsu is just Nanjing, right? If so, you can get to Hangzhou from Shanghai. If you will not stay in Shanghai for a whole, you can catch the direct airport bus to Hangzhou. If not, you can take bullet train to Hangzhou (1.5 hours). Hangzhou North Bus Station has buses to Nanjing via expressway and the whole journey is 4 hours. Nanjing has one bulle train to Qingdao, it leaves at 9:45am and get there 7 hours later. The only train will take over 12 hours. Recommend take bullet train from Qingdao to Tianjin, only 4 hours, change to intercity bullet train to Beijing in 30 minutes.

hi, uhm im planning to go to Suzhou on wednesday, i am currently in shanghai. I s it possible to tour around Suzhou and Wuxi for just one same day?

Jun. 22,2009 23:04
Ms.Evelyn(China) replied:

Hi, Ms, starbee, 'go' does't mean 'visit'. One day is not enough to get around such two beautiful cities, although they are quite close to each other. You may take a bullet train from Shanghai to Suzhou. It takes about 30 minites from Shanghai to Suzhou by bullet train. The first bullet train is at 05:45. When you arrive in Suzhou, it's nearly 06:30. You want half a day for Suzhou tour and another half for Wuxi tour. Oh, my gosh, it's too pressing.

I will be traveling to Taizhou. Is it possible to see any part of the Great Wall? What would be the closest spot and how should I get there?

Jun. 3,2009 21:52
Mr.Sam replied:

No, there is no site of the Great Wall located in Taizhou. If you would like to have a travel in Taizhou, please consider the Fengcheng Lake Scenic Area which is an ancient city lake. The Taizhou Old Street to its east is a good place both for travel and tasting local snacks! The city-bus 301 could take you there directly~

May. 16,2009 22:35
Ms.Evelyn(CN) replied:

From Shanghai to Suzhou, the bullet trains will help you a lot. You can go to take the bullet train at Shanghai Railway Station. It takes about more than 30 minutes to arrive in Suzhou.
From Beijing to Suzhou, there are three trains within a day. They are not bullet trains. The slowest train is Train 1461. Don't choose it. It will take you about 21 hours to get to Suzhou. The other two trains are Z85 and T284. If you cannot stand such a long time, you may go to Suzhou by air at Beijing airport.

May. 17,2009 10:34
Ms.mauliza(Jordan) replied:

How far is Taicang City in Jiangsu Province from Beijing and how much is the air-fare.

Apr. 16,2009 02:49
Ms.Jane replied:

Taicang City is under the control of Suzhou City where there is no airport. So, if you would like to fly there, firstly you have to arrive at Shanghai Pudong Airport from Beijing. The airfare could be search at http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-flights/

From Shanghai, you could take a coach to Taicang in 1.5 hours with a ticket of 21rmb. The coach station is located at the north square of Shanghai Railway Station. From the airport, shuttle Line 5 will drive you to the south square of the railway station in no more than 1 hour. And the fare is 22rmb.

Alternatively, it is convenient to take the express bullet train from Beijing Railway Station to Shanghai Railway Station directly within 10 hours. Then, transfer to the bus to Taicang easily.
The train information is listed at:
