From Hong Kong to Xuchang: You can take Kowloon to Beijing train T98A which passes through Zhengzhou. Then, you can change a train or bus to Xuchang which is only a half hour from Zhengzhou. Or you can flight to Zhengzhou from Hong Kong. Zhengzhou Airport has shuttle buses to Xuchang, departing at 12am and 4:30pm. You can also choose to take taxi, for it is only 50 km (about 60 rmb at daytime) from Zhengzhou Airport to Xuchang. Good Luck!

Hi Mr. Tabande, You can fly to the city of Luoyang and then arrange (before hand) to have a private guide and car waiting for you. It is approx. 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive to Shaolin. We went 2 years ago and arrived late in the pm and all the tourists had gone home and we got to see the monks performing their closing ceremonies. It was awesome. I would also like to recommend that you stay the night in Luoyang (ok hotels, not super nice, but ok and clean) and then the next morning you HAVE to go to the Longmen Grottoes. Do a search online and you will see why. It is so AMAZING! It was a highlight of our trip. You could then take a train or flight to wherever you are going next. But Luoyang is a good base for Shaolin and Longmen Grottoes. Both are awesome!
