Hi Wendy,
You can take train at Beijing West station leaving ~8:30pm either on train# Z19 or T27. Both arrive at next morning ~8:30am. You actually save time (vs sleep at hotel) and experience travelling in China by train, which is very safe and relax. I'd recommend get a soft sleeper for US$60/each. Need to buy train ticket (a) few days in advance. Or preorder them and ask them to send to your hotel though we haven't used this service before, as we have Chinese friends helping us on that.
We live in San Diego, and plan to do our China tour by train ONLY! The cost is a fraction of that travelling from San Diego to Seattle, and much faster. It usually takes one day or two to travel between most cities.

My boyfriend will spend one year in Beijing.
I'd like to make a gift to him: in Italy we have museum card that's a card
that someone pays in advance and you can visit museums, monuments, ... without
paying the entry (or paying it with discount).
Does exist something similar to what i want in Beijing? Is possible to buy it from Italy?
Any suggestions for other gift?
Please let me know.....Thanks!

Ms.Echo replied:
Hello
The card you said must be the through ticket, which are the annual ticket, season ticket and monthly ticket. You can buy it in Beijing, not in Italy.

I am now in Beijing....is it worthwhile to give Tianjin a day trip? I understand train is from Beijing SDouth Railway Stattion...but what about taking a bus?

Ms.Meimei(cn) replied:
If you have much time, go for a "one-day trip" in Tianjin. Trains are really convenient as you understand. As for bus, you can take long-distance bus at Zhaosongkou at the 3rd ring of south Beijng. The frequency is 15min. and it takes at least 2 hours with a fare of CNY35. Good Luck :)

Are you sure it is Beijing Snow World Entertainment Center? I googled but found no such place. But it may be Beijing Snow World Ski Resort. If you are finding Beijing Ski Resorts, see this website:
