There is no direct bus from the airport to Simatai or Gubeikou except hiring a cab. So, you could firstly take the airport express train or shuttle bus Line 2 to reach Dongzhimen. Then, please take the city-bus No.916 to get to Huairou District of Beijing. Finally, you could hire a taxi to reach Simatou Great Wall.

To Miyun, you can find the Dongzhimen Wai Bus Stop (get out of Dongzhimen Station from the airport express and walk east a little),take Bus 980, K980 or 970 to Miyun Bus Station, where you can take minibus to Simataior Gubeikou. It needs about 3-4 hours.

You could catch the Huyue Express Bus from Beijing to Shenyang respectively at Bawangfen and Sihui Bus Station. The journey is about 8 hours and 145RMB.
From Airport, please take the airport express train and transfer to Beijing metro Line 10 at Sanyuanqiao Station. Then, please transfer to to Line 1 at Guomao and finally get off at Dawanglu to Bawangfen Bus Station, or get off at the next Sihui to Sihui Bus Station.

There are several options for you to get to Gubeikou 1. Beijing North Railway Station has special tourist Line L677 (7:36-11:03)to Gubeikou. 2. Take regular bus at Dongzhimen or Xizhimen to Luanping and Chengdu, get off halfway at Gubeikou 3. Dongzhimen has regular buses to Miyun. Get off the bus at Miyun Bus Station and change to microbus to Gubekou. I think you should spend 4 hours or so to get Gubeikou.

I was told that Erlian to Beijing Buses is changeable. One should get to the driver and ask about the time and arrival place in Beijing. It will take 7-8 hours by bus. There are also trains: K4, K24 running to Beijing from Erlian, but they are departing at midnight.

You can go to Tiananmen East bus stop to take the Bus No.2 to go to Muxiyuan Bus Station. It takes about 6 stops' drive to get to Muxiyuan. The distance is not long. So, besides Bus No.2, you may take a taxi to get to Muxiyuan Bus Station. At Muxiyuan Bus Station, the buses to go to Erlian leave at 17:00 and 18:00. Besides buses, you may go to Beijing Railway Station to take a train to Erlian. The two trains to Erlian leave at 07:45. It takes about 13 hours to get to Erlian.

There is only one train from Ximen to Beijing West Railway station. The total journey will cost 33 hours and the ticket price is about 450rmb for hard sleeper and about 700rmb for soft sleeper. The cheapest airport ticket is no more than 1100 rmb, 2.5 hours. You may try to dind much cheaper air tickets at local ticket boiking office. For the time is so long, personally, airplane is recommend.

Why not taking trains there which will be much comfortable. Beijing's Beijiao (16:30), Lizeqiao (12:55, 17:00), Liuliqiao (16:30) and Muxiyuan (17:00, 18:00) long-distance bus stations all have buses to Erlianhaote. It was 700 kilometers. The ticket price is 130-180. For info at that day, you can make a inquiry call to ask. Usually, ticket booking is available. But it is too early to book now.
