hello, i'm going to go to some cities in China for business trip next week and i will go to Dalian also but only for about 9 hours for transit, before i leave it for shijiazhuang. could anyone inform me the temperature there for next week? and is it possible for me to go outside from the airport to have shopping or just looking around the city for only 6 hours before i go back to airport again? my boss said Dalian is nice place to visit. thank you.
Aug. 10,2009 22:07 Mr.Shan replied:
Weather: sunny days cloudy days, nothing bad for traveling
Of course, you could go to the city for a short visit. The Dalian Airport is very close to the city-center, which only takes 30 minutes by city-buses or the airport shuttle bus. U could take the city-bus 701, 710 or 532 to the Zhongshan Square or the Renmin Square, both of which are the famous tour destinations in Dalian. Around them, you could do some shopping, too!

Places to go in Dalian: Bangchuidao Scenic Area, Jinshitan Scenic Area, Laohutan Ocean Park, Port Arthur. At early Septemeber, China Eastern Airlines has a little cheaper air ticket. If going by train, you will spenf nearly 23 hours. The train ticket fare for soft sleeper is about 690RMB. The air ticket is similar or cheaper perhaps in Deptember. Sep is one of the best time to visit Dalian, fewer travelers but very comfortabel climate although the sea water may be a little cooler. If you like eating seafood, it is just the right time. And, the international clothes festival will be held in early Sep.
There are many hotel and hostels around the university. Actually, I think it is a good idea to stay at the hotel of Dalian Medical University, cheap and convenient.
