CAN I TRAVEL FROM CHENNAI IN INDIA TO GUANGZHOU IN CHINA VIA HONG KONG NEW international airport WITHOUT GOING THROUGH HONG KONG IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS BY FERRY OR BY ROAD? IF, SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW MUCH IT WILL COST AND HOW MUCH TIME IT WILL TAKE BY ROAD AND FERRY

Oct. 9,2009 03:12
Mr.Frankie replied:

Currently, there is no ferry could be used for going to Guangzhou from HK Airport directly. So, when you arrive in HK Airport and then transfer to Guangzhou by bus, you have to go through the HK immigration and customs to a certainty. The bus will take you about 3.5 hours and 200~250HK$.

Hello, thank you very much for a very useful site...

We are planning to fly to Hong Kong airport, arriving at about 8am then to travel to Zhongshan for a meeting. We would like to travel from Zhongshan, after our meeting there, to Foshan for another meeting the same day. We will be visiting printers and would need about 3 hours per meeting. We have another meeting in Shenzen the following day.

What would be the best/quickest mode of transport from Hong Kong to Zhongshan, as well as from Zhongshan to Foshan and then finally to Shenzen? Also how long it might take for each trip and approximate costs. Your help is greatly appreciated..

The Zhongshan address is: TongMao Industrial Zone, Dongsheng Town, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, China
The Foshan address is: Fuxi Industrial Park, Cheshan, Lishui Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City
The Shenzen address is: Dongfang Jianfu Yusheng Industrial Park, Gushu, Bao'an District, Shenzhen

Aug. 17,2009 01:57
Mr.Jerry replied:

From Hong Kong Airport to Zhongshan directly, right? There are shuttle buses operated by Eternal East Bus. It needs 3.5 hours and will stop at Fuhua Hotel, International Hotel and Xingchen Huayuan (Aiqin 9th Street), Zhongshan. Ticket fare: 250HKD.
There is a ferry every day at 15:40 from HK Airport Ferry Terminal. If you can catch it, you can get to Zhongshan in 70 minutes and the ship ticket fare is 250HKD too. Zhongshan Coach Terminal in Fuhua Dao, west District has buses to Foshan, about 2 hours. Foshan is two hour from Shenzhen by bus. Shenzhen and foshan has many bus stations, try to find the right buses at the starting station. After arriving the city, suggest take taxi to the place you want. For they are all need to take public bus and it is not very easy.

I am getting the ferry from Hong Kong to Macau. How long does this take? I am wanting to go and visit Sak Moon Hang village near Cuiheng (Sun Yat Sen birthplace) for an hour or two. Is it doable and get back to get the ferry back to HK. This is my dad;s village. I will be on a tour The tour ends in the late afternoon and returns to HK by turbojet Ferry. I can leave the tour upon arrival in Macau and either rejoin for the ferry ride back or do my own ferry back to HK and go to the HK Sheraton % Towers.
Any advice? This is for November 16th, 2009.

Jul. 29,2009 01:02
Mr.jason replied:

Hello, Norman. There are ferry between Hong Kong and Macay 24 hours and it needs about one hour for the journey. If the village you mentioned is in Zhongshan City? for Cuiheng is in Zhongshan close to Zhuhai? No big difference on the choice after your arrival in Macau, I think, for the ferry to HK is easy to arrange.

Hi, does anyone know what is the best means to get around Kwantung; in particular, I'd like to go to Dzung Shan (not sure of the spelling, but in Chinese it means "central mountain"). This is the birth place of Sun Yetsun, the founding father of the Chinese Republic at the beginning of the 20th century. I would very much appreciate if if anyone can tell me how best (reasonable and safe) to get from the airport to "Central Mountain" (the town) especially if I am travelling by myself. florence

Jul. 19,2009 02:48
Mr.Jerry replied:

Yes, I know you mean Zhongshan (中山)City. I guess you may fly to Guangzhou as the first stop in Guangdong? If so, there is direct shuttle bus to Zhongshan from Guangzhou Intel. Airport. Bus is available every 30-60 minutes. It is convenient to get around by bus. Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Zhongshan can also be reached by ferry. :-)Shenzhen and Guangzhou has bullet trains running between them.

Yes, you can, but as I know Indian passport holders need to have a visa to Hong Kong. I guess you have Chinese visa?!
From Hong Kong to Guangdong, it depands on which city do you want to go. If you are going to Guangzhou, you can take the Eat Railway Line. If you go to Shenzhen, you can take metroway and bus. :-)

Jun. 19,2009 14:19
Mr.Badg(Italy) replied:

maybe you should consider to travel to mainland China from Hong Kong by ferry. Its very easy as you do need to go through HK custom clearance but straight to ferry destination which is within the airport itselff.Ferries goes to Shekou,Macau and believe Guanzzhou as well

Jul. 15,2009 22:28
Mr.Jason replied:

Yes, I guess so. I know that there are direc flight from New Delhi to Guangzhou, but that's all right if you come via Hong Kong. I guess there are more flights and cheaper to go Hong Kong first. From Hong Kong aiport to Guangzhou, the easiest way is to take airport shuttle bus to Guangzhou city directly. It will coast around 220HKD. The other way is to take airport Bus A21 to Hung Hom (33HKD) and change to the East rail to Guangzhou East Railway Station (190HKD per person). The cheaper one should be take MTR to Shenzhen Luo Hu and then change to bus to Shenzhen.

thanks a lot

Jun. 23,2009 22:51
Mr.James replied:

For Mobile Phone and accesories, Shenzhen is better than Guangzhou. Shenzhen itself is a big electronic products market. You can find these also in Guangzhou.

Jul. 15,2009 08:16
Mr.ching(Shenzhen,China) replied:

Hi Mrs.David, if you are looking for mobile phone, there is the largest wholesale market in Shenzhen city.
By the way, Guangdong is a province, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the two big cities in Guangdong province, the distant between is 1hr. by train.

i want to visit Buji town in Shenzen City on business in the month of June or July. The business i want to do is to purchase industrial sewing machines. Is this a safe town to do business and how is the weather during these months. Which is the best service in the city that i can use to freight my goods and kindly advice of a good hotel to stay in. Also if you could refer me to some reliable companies that sell industrial sewing machines. thanks

Jun. 18,2009 20:17
Mr.Sam replied:

Please take it easy that this area is safe both for business and traveling. During June and July, Buji even all Shenzhen is in the rainy seasion but the average temperature could reach 30c at daytime. So, you will feel muggy there. As for the hotel, Buji is located in Bao'an District of Shenzhen, so you could look for one hotel in this area. Here I found a hotel list: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/hotel/shenzhen-hotels.htm
