Is there another place to buy gemstone?
thanks

I can help with the transport, Tati. There is no direct link to the hotel. Suggest you take airport express line 5 to Haizhu Square or Marriott China Hotel. Then take a taxi to your hotel, not far from there.

Oeark River night cruise, Yuxiu Park, Chen Clam Memorial Hall, Liurong Temple and Guangxiao Temple. These are all good choices. For more, you can see

For shopping, recommend you go to Beijing Road and Tianhe area. Xiguan is a nice place to try local snacks, this arae includes Wenchang Rd, LongJin Rd, Xiajiu Rd and Duobao Rd.

Tianhe is a bit distant from Shangxiajie and Beijing Road, but you can get there by subway. You can use Subway Line 1 to Gongyuanqian Station, where you can get from to Beijing Road by walking. Take the same line further to Changshou Road. From there, you can walk to Shangxiajie. Food: 10-20 for fast food/ per meal

Thanks for your reply James!

I want to go both, Shaoxing and Guangzhou. What is the fastest mode of transporatation to go to Shaoxing from Guangzhou?

If i am planning to go to these 2 places for 1 week, is it enough?

Appreciate your help!

Nov. 9,2009 23:07

To Ms Suraya. The fatest way should be plane. You should fly to Hangzhou first and then get to Hangzhou East bus Station to find the bus to Keqiao, Shaoxing. Keqiao has many fabric and textile factories and markets.

Mr.Yow(Malaysia) said:

To those who had been to Guangzhou many times, please share with me some info a.s.a.p.:
1) Which area is the best to stay in, ShangXiaJiuLu, BeijingLu, TianHe, Shamian or ZhanQianlu?

2) Which hotel is the best for 3-people family, Fortune, Guangzhou, Home Inn, Elan, Raystar, 7 Day Inn or Victory? We are people who love to get out of hotel and immediately be able to see shops, restaurants, supermarkets, TCMs, banks, people and activities, day and night.

3) Is there a China government site that I can refer to about travelchinaguide.com, apart from users' anecdotal verifications? I feel better using this website's booking if I can confirm its authenticity, NO offence intended web-owners.

Any useful info is much appreciated.

Thank you!

Nov. 8,2009 20:29
Ms.Wang replied:

To Mr. Yow. For places to stay, I recommend Beijing Road and Tianhe. In consideration you requests, I thing Guangzhou Hotel in Qiyi Road and 7 Day Inn in Beijing Road are better choices. Well, I saw the recommendation letter from Xian Tourism Administration: www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/recommendation.htm
and found this travel angency in the list of local international travel agencies as well. A friend of mine from California use this travel agency in Oct. So, I think it is okay and realiable.

I think you should choose the Hotel Canton, which is located in the walking-distance to these attractions. Also, you could take the shuttle bus from Guangzhou Airport to arrive there easily.

Except of those crowded places, such as the railway stations and wholesale markets, Guangzhou is safe for travling. For shopping, you could go to Shangxiajiu Road or Beijing Road, both of which are in downtown area.
