When we go we stay at the Best Western Shegnzhen Felicity Hotel. It is a 4 star hotel, with wonderful services, accommodation and good continental food. The reception desk helps you get around the city, and provides you with any transportation you need, or guidance. Internet only works at the main lobby with a great area to seat, review emails, do your business, and drink a glass of wine or scotch. It is located at: 1085 Heping Road, Shenzhen 518010. Take a look you will like it!

Hi there. Anyone can tell me about Shenzhen Visa? I am Czech Citizen and live in UK. I will visit Shenzhen next month for 2 days, entering from Hong Kong. 1. Can anyone tell me if this is 100% sure that I can get a Shenzhen Visa at Lo Wu and how much it costs (can pay in HKD or CNY)? 2. What is a closing time for this facility? I will arrive at the airport at 20:30, allowing 1 hour for customs I will leave HKIA around 21:30. Will I be in time? 3. I will travel with a Thai friend, who study here in UK. Is he also eligible for this kind of visa?
As a reference I would like to quote Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, saying that: "From Nov. 15th 2000, aliens traveling to Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions(SAR) in tour groups organized by travel agencies registered in the above-mentioned SARs are exempted from visa requirements for a period of not exceeding 6 days when entering into the following Chinese mainland cities: Guangzhong, Shenzhen, zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jinangmen, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, etc. The premise is that the traveler shall have the citizenship of a country having diplomatic relations with the People?s Republic of China and carrying an ordinary passport" (http://th.china-embassy.org/eng/lsfw/qzxk/t18418.htm)
Thanx a lot...
Jul. 8,2009 01:59 Mr.Jason replied:
1. Yes, the cost is 150HKD. No heard of stopping handling the on-site visa. 2. Huanggang Border Custom: close at 24:00. you have time to be there. 3. Yes.
The premise is you join in a tour arranged by a travel agent. Hope it is useful.
Thank you for answering this Mr.Jason. As you refer to Huanggang (not LoWu) does it mean the Shenzhen Visa is available there as well? So far I hav known it's available only at LoWu...
Any idea what companies with tour of Shenzhen SEZ I can use to join them just to get through the border? I assume that any return bus connection ticket (GoGo or EE) from HKIA to SZ does not count??? Any comanies that I could find at HKIA then???
Jul. 8,2009 21:14 Mr.Shan replied:
Hi Petr, it is not 100% sure that you could apply for a visa to Shenzhen when you arrive at Luohu. I knew some foreigners were refused when they apply for visa at Luohu. So, if possible, you should apply for a China Visa before coming to China.
As for the port, I think you could raach Luohu before 24:00 when the port will be closed. If you miss the time, you have to go to Huanggang which is opened round-the-clock.
Even if you participate in a tour group, valid visa and passport are required all the same.

Jun. 27,2009 01:50 Mr.Frank replied:
The Shenzhen Airport doesn't supply train service. Well, you could take the airport shuttle bus-Express 330 and get off at the terminal of Shenzhen Railway Station. Then, you could find the hotel easily, very close~

Next Sunday we (4 adults and 5 children) visit Shenzen. We arrive Shenzen at 8 PM. I need suggestions. First, How far from airport to Hotel Best Western Felicity? How much for the taxi from airport to Hotel? From Shenzen we visit Hongkong and we stay at Ramada hotel at Central. How long it take by bus or train? Which one is the best? Thank you.
Jun. 25,2009 01:32 Ms.Evelyn(China) replied:
No need to take a taxi. It's not economical. If the driver take a roundabout, you may pay more. So, you'd better to take the airport bus.The airport bus 330 (airport bus line 1) can take you to the Shenzhen Railway Station. The ticket is CNY20 per person. Exit from the railway station and you can find this hotel. It's only 0.5 kilometer from the railway station. There are no trains from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. You may go to Hong Kong by ship at Shenzhen Shekou Ferry Terminal or take a cross-border bus at Bao'an Bus Station.

If you're on a US passport you can't get the 5 day Shenzhen only visa at the Lo Wu border. And not sure if it is currently available for all travellers. It is currently available for all non-US passport holders who also hold HK ID cards (permanent or non-permanent residents)

For your reference only: A friend came from Hong Kong told me that if you have valid passport, you are able to apply for a five-day on-site visa at the Luo Hu Land Port of Shenzhen by filling out a required form. And, in the five days, you could just travel in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
Jan. 10,2009 00:22 Mr.Kai(Singapore) replied:
Yes, of course you could get it by arriving the Luohu Port. The fee is about 180RMB for one. From a traveler's recent experience there, she said that only Chinese RMB cash is accepted.
