what is the admission to enter the temple of heaven

Aug. 22,2009 03:49
Mr.Cullen(us) replied:

Hi, just read the above passage.

Sep. 4,2009 07:46
Mr.R White(UK) replied:

It is approx 80RMB at the main entrance for an all inclusive ticket. There are some discounts for some groups. best to buy the all inclusive ticket as buying separate tickets as you go round makes it much more expensive.

I'll be arriving Beijing Int'l airport at 4pm. Can I make it to visit Temple of Heaven?

Aug. 25,2009 04:36
Mr.Black(cn) replied:

You can if you are willing to. As you see in the above passage, the Temple of Heaven won't be closed until 20:00. You've got enough time. However, i don't recommended you visit the temple of heaven in the evening.

Aug. 25,2009 21:39
Ms.raak(S'pore) replied:

Thanks Black.
Is it too dark in the evening at Temple of Heaven? As I my arrival time is 4pm & I don't want to waste the rest of the day not seeing any attraction on my 1st day. Which other attractions can u recommend for the late afternoon/early evening? Thanks again.

Aug. 25,2009 22:53
Mr.Balck(cn) replied:

Hi, I am not saying it's too dark in the evening at Temple of Heaven. I don't recommend as it is not a good time to take pictures. Anyway, you can definitely go there if you don't care about the photo thing.

Someone please kindly tell me the best way to get to Temple of Heaven from Dongjiaominxiang Hotel at 23A Dongjiaominxiang, Docheng District, Beijing?
Do I need one or half a day to see & enjoy the atmosphere in it?

Aug. 12,2009 22:16
Ms.Yuan(cn) replied:

Hi,Emily
You can take bus 120 from the east of Tian'anmen Squre and get off at the south gate of the Temple of Heaven. If you have much time, one or half a day is good for you to enjoy the atmosphere, but if not, 2 to 3 hours would be enough.

Ms.Emily(Malaysia) replied:

Hi Ms. Yuan,

Thank you for your information.

why is the temple of heaven so important to china

Jul. 25,2009 04:28
Ms.Melissa(China) replied:

Hi, there. It is said by the World Heritage Committee that the Temple of Heaven is a well preserved temple complex and reflects, either from the whole layout or a single architecturethe, relations between heaven and earth, which was the core of ancient cosmology in China. Moreover, the complex embodies the unique function of monarchs and emperors on the heaven-earth relations. Confusing? :)

I visited the Temple of Heaven with my aunt while on vacation and it was very beautiful. We were running a little late so we didn't get to spend a lot of time there but I did get to see a lot of the surrounding park and activities and The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Very beautiful! We couldn't go in but you could see inside.

Mr.Adam(USA/China) said:

I went there today... the architecture and history is very good, but like many places in China, it's hard to appreciate it because there are few signs or places of information that describe the temple (you can pay extra money for a headset after you pay the entrance). Also, the temple is treated basically like a park, so as you walk through trying to appreciate the temple, there are people singing opera, playing games and dancing, etc, as well as the usual shops selling unrelated junk like water guns, great wall shirts, jewelry, etc (and for inflated prices).

Its not that I don't think people should have a place to gather and have fun, but an important temple that is thousands of years old seems like it should be more quite, with perhaps re-enactments and a lot of information available.

nay, it's not a tao temple.. taoism only came in BC 6.. read up the history of temple of heaven and you will find there were no idols in the temple. check out the old testament and you will find some similarities.

It is such a pretty building. Does anyone know the dimensions for it?

Jan. 8,2009 20:35
Mr.Sam Hanson(GB) replied:

You are lucky, I just do some research on the Beijing Temple of Heaven. It is said that the area is four times of the Forbidden City. And is encircled by an outer wall of 6,553 meters and an inner one of 4,152 meters. Seems most of the vital buildings are in the inner wall. Its main building is the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest is 38 meters in height, a totally wooden building. There is also a long walkway from south to north, 360 meters long, wow, and 30 meters wide.
