Oct. 27,2009 22:31
Mr.Colin replied:

It is not easy to buy the first acailable train in the morning I think. The train ticket is 58/69RMB. You can also consider to take the shuttle bus from Tianjin Airport to Beijing Dawangfen Bus Station directly.

Mr.Ken(China) said:

Hi. I live in Beijing near Guomao. I have a flight departing Tianjin airport early in the morning and would prefer to take a taxi from my apartment near Guomao to Tianjin airport. I understand the airport is about 110km away from Guamao, so less than a two hour drive.

(1) Do you think rmb300 for a taxi ride is a fair price?
(2) Do you know anyone with a car or a taxi driver willing to make the trip for that price?

Assistance and feedback greatly appreciated.

Oct. 19,2009 23:10
Mr.Qi replied:

1. I don't think 300RMB is enough. Perhaps you can try to negotiate the price with the drice in advance.
2. sorry no.
My suggestion: if you do not need to be in Tianjin early in the morning or catch the time, you can take bus or train to Tianjin city and then take a taxi to the airport.

Hallo, I am back in Italy after some days in Tianjin and I was a little afraid on how to reach Tianjin from Beijing airport; I tell ou that at info desk of Beijing aiport operator told me that I could go with airport car ( taxi). I did in this way and I also reserved the taxi from the way back from hotel in Tianjin to Beijing aiport. The total cost I paid: 1500 yuan ( total go and back). It takes about 1hour and 30 minutes and for a person who is in China for the 1st time I think this is the best and easiest solution.
Bye bye from Italy.

Oct. 9,2009 22:28

Xi-Na? Could you give more clues about this place. Seems so strange to me.

Oct. 15,2009 02:36
Mr.Kit(Singapore) replied:

The best way is to take a flight! The train is fun too but with your amount of luggage, I think it is difficult. Don't take long distance buses.

I will be arriving in Binhai Airport on 22 Oct at 7am with my family. We would like to get to Beijing and from the Q & A so far, the bullet train seems to be the best option. Is the bullet train departing from Binhai Airport? Would appreciate it if someone can let me know where to purchase the bullet train tickets? Thank you.

Oct. 9,2009 22:25
Mr.Colin replied:

No, the bullet train do not depart from the airport, you should take airport bus to Tianjin Railway Station first and buy ticket there. There are many trains a day and ticket at that day (Thuresday) is not difficult to buy. Good Luck~

Mr.David(USA) replied:

I want to go to the Terra-cotta Warriors in Xina, China.

Oct. 15,2009 02:33
Mr.Kit(Singapore) replied:

Hi! What Mr. Colin says is true. If there is no bus, u can take a cab to Tianjin Train Station too. There might be locals offering RMB 400 to 500 to charter a car to Beijing but consider the traffic too. It usually take 3 hrs to reach.

How much does it cost to take a taxi from Beijing to Xingang (Tianjin)? How long does it take? I am going to Xingang on the 5th Oct., 2009. Do I need extra time for the national holiday? Do I still have enough time to buy the train tickets (C2275) on the 4th Oct., 2009??

Sep. 29,2009 23:19
Mr.Leo replied:

I think you could have a try to purchase the train ticket to Tanggu Railway Station in Xingang today. This will save lots money for you. Not very sure about the fare of hiring a taxi to Xingang, but is should be no less than 300RMB.

We are looking for a one-day visit to Tianjin from Beijing, can some one suggest what all places can we visit in Tianjin. We are planning to visit on Oct-1st, can we get the tickets To & Fro on that Day?

Sep. 28,2009 01:23
Mr.Shan replied:

Here is a suggested itinerary for one day tour: Tianjin Confucian Temple->the Ancient Cultural Street->Tianhou Palace->Nanshi Food Street/Hotel Street
Well, you could refer the website's introduction at http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/tianjin/

I'm afraid that you couldn't purchase a train ticket on the spot since Oct 1 is just the first day of the National Holiday. If possible, please purchase the train ticket as early as possible.

Is it not possible to see the beach in one day? How much time it will take from the Tainjin Railway station to the sea.

Mr.Shan replied:

Well, I think the train tickets have been sold out at least 3 days in advance. If you use the public light rail or bus, it will takes 30 minutes to arrive in the beaches.

We are arriving by cruise ship at the Xingang port, and want to take the bullet train to Beijing. I've read the other posts here, but have the following questions:
1. How long wshould a taxi take to get from the port to the Tianjin train station, and what should it cost?
2. Other posts say there is more than one train station in Tianjin. If so, which train staiondo we want and how do we communicate that to a taxi driver (we only speak English)?
3. Could someone post, in Chinese characters, something we can give to a taxi driver asking him to take us to the correct train station?
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Sep. 3,2009 01:46
Mr.Shan replied:

Firstly, there two railway station in Tianjian, one is called Tanggu Railway Station (塘沽火车站)which is just 8kms from the Xingang Port. The other one is called Tianjin Railway Station (天津火车站), located 50kms from the Xingang Port at least. However, everyday, the former one just has four bullet trains to Beijing and the latter one has much more. You could search the train infor at http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/

Taxi from port to Tanggu: about 10 minutes and 20RMB
Taxi from port to Tianjin Railway Station: about one hour and no less than 100RMB.

Sep. 21,2009 08:59
Mr. Bob(USA) replied:

Thank you, Mr. Shan. We arrive around 7:30 am, and want to take the earliest possible train to Beijing. The only bullet train from Tanggu that works for us leaves at 8:30 am. I think we can get to the train station by about 8:00 am. If we get there by that time, can we buy tickets for the 8:30 am train? Would we have time to wait in line, buy the tickets and still get on the train brfore it leaves? I read on another post that it may not be possible to buy tickets for the next train.

Because we don't speak Mandarin, we would like to arrange for an English speaking guide (or taxi driver who speaks enough English) to meet us at the Xingang port with a taxi, take us to the train station, and help us buy tickets and get ton the right train. We are willing to pay for this service. Would any of you be able to help us, or can you refer me to someone who can?

Sep. 24,2009 01:53
Mr.Shan replied:

Yes, it is hard to buy the ticket just for the next train and not impossible at all if it is weekends. So, if you ar not in hurry, you can buy the ticket a bit later. As to the guide, I am afraid I can not help. You can print or write the chinese characters and show the driver your destination. It is not a difficult thing. Good Luck.
