You need to have a Taiwan Visa. You can apply for the visa in Hong Kong Immigration Administration for the details. Seems no direct ferry to Taiwan from Hong Kong. It is qmuch better to go Jinmen, Xiamen Fujian. Hong Kong airport has direct flights to Taipei, Taizhong, Gaoxiong. It is much convinient.

An exciting news to share with everybody! From March 2009, mainland travelers can take cruise ships from Xiamen to visit Taiwan across the Taiwan Strait. Welcome to Taiwan Island!

Hi Ms. Cora,
Is there anyway to take a ferry from Taipei to Hong Kong? If so, could you direct me to a website where I can find more information? Thank you!

Well, as far as I know, there is no ferry from Taipei to Hongkong, only planes.
