Ningbo is about 3.5 hours by express bus from Shanghai SOuth Bus Station. I think no need to take a flight. It may be more comfortable to take bullet trains (D trains). There are ten D trains every day from Shanghai SOuth Train Station to Ningbo. You can get there 3 hours later.

The ideal hotel should be close to the Jing'an Temple, where you could take the shuttle bus Line 2 to and from the airport directly. And, it is also easy to have a restaurant for dinner in this region. I know one called Yunfeng Giant Hotel, jsut 3 minutes walking to the shuttle bus station.
