I was lucky enough to spend a day there in Dec 2008. The park focuses more on the historical and cultural Chinese miniatures rather than the traditional amusements of most western theme parks, though they are well made and quite large. While you are there, plan on seeing the shows... they are well worth the price of admission! The costumes are extravagant and the performances equally spectacular.
The park is also well patrolled by security personnel and has plenty of friendly english speaking staff, so there's no need to worry too much if your Mandarin isn't very good. Just grab a map at the entrance and have fun!
