Can someone tell me what is the cost of a apartment to rent in Changchun as myself and my fiance will be teaching there this semester. I have been told by the school that i can rent one for 1200 rmb but when i check out places they want 2500 rmb per month can you give me the real price of what it will cost per month.
Aug. 10,2009 22:46 Mr.Hank(CN) replied:
As I know, 1,200RMB is enough for you to rent an apartment with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and bathroom per month. Of course, some necessary furnitures are included, too. If the apartment is not located in the city-center or some very prosperous area, the price may be lower to 800RMB per month.

Aug. 2,2009 21:04 Mr.Shan replied:
The distance between these two cities is about 1,000kilometers. So, you could fly from Changchun to Beijing directly. Or, you could take the express trains running between them, which just take abotu 6.5 hours on the way. Well, for the real-time flight and train's information, please refer to: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-flights/ http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/

I moved to Changchun last week. No one seems to know anything about anything! ;)
I'm looking for a fitness center. I live off Dong Nanhu Road, in the Economic/Technology Development Zone, so there must be one somewhere nearby.
Where can I go...who can I ask...how can I find such information?
Xie xie!

You may go to the Yatai International Club at the Shiji Guangchang (Shiji Plaza), not far from Dong Nanhu Road (Dong Nanhu Dalu). Just see the map of Changchun City: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/map/changchun/
Find Dong Nanhu Dalu (near the yellow line, Huancheng DongLu) and then near it you can see Shiji Dajie. Have you seen it? The Shiji Square is just located at the crossing of Shiji Dajie and Beihai Lu.
Jul. 18,2009 04:04 Mr.Deeds(USA) replied:
Ms. Evelyn: Wow! Thanks for the information, and especially for getting back to me so quickly! That's quite close by...maybe I'll go check it out this evening! Xie xie very much!
P.S. You know I was just kidding about "no one knowing anything about anything," right? I'll still learning that my American sense of humor doesn't always translate well! ;)
Jul. 18,2009 05:47 Mr.Deeds(USA) replied:
Since I had such good luck with the fitness center question, I'd like to try one more:
Does anyone know of a good dentist near Dong Nanhu Dalu?
S/he doesn't have to be fluent in English, but some knowledge of English will be helpful since my Chinese is practically nonexistent! Xie xie again!
