Hi Mr Leon,
Thanks for your reply I have another question ie. is it true that there is alot of walking required at Zhangjiajie? Is there a need to climb any mountain? My friends they have are not fit enough to climb but walking should be find with them. Appreciate your advise. For your info, most probably my group of friend going Zhangjiajie in end Sept 09.
Aug. 9,2009 01:42 Mr.Leon replied:
Hi, Goh, Zhangjiajie is famous for its mountainou scenery, so climibing is a must. However, there are cable ways can help you to reach main peaks. Sedan chairs are also available, personly, I think it is ruthless, but sedan man live on that. You can try that if you do not mind to pay much more money. Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Cave and Baofeng Lake can be visited without much walking. You can try them too. :-)

Hi, just thought I'd let anybody know who's interested, I visited Zhangjiajie in June this year. It was already quite warm (25 - 30) but tolerable. There is a lot of walking involved but there are lots of buses, trains, lifts and even sedan chairs available, at extra cost though. I would highly recommend a visit, the whole area is breathtakingly beautiful.
Accomodation in Zhangjiajie national park Hi all, Can anyone tell me how can I go from the airport to the natural scinery area in Zhangjiajie? Ive read that the best places are inside the park but since we are arriving around 15:00 I dont know if we will have time to actually get to the natural park. Can anyone tell me how long does it take to get from the airport to the national park? is it difficult to get there? Im looking for a nice hostel, guesthouse in the village or in the natural park, any advise on that please? Thank you all
Jul. 30,2009 02:20 Mr.Shan replied:
At the airport, there is only shuttle bus which could take you to the city area in 20 minutes. The scenic area is about 30 kilometers from city center, which takes about 40 minutes by bus. It is easy to catch a bus in Zhangjiajie. So, it seems less time for you to visit the park this day.
There are many home hostels located in the scenic area. If you don't come here in peak season, you could find one easy when you arrive here.

my suggestion is better to take plane, save most of your travelling time. You can get really cheap domestic price during this round of time. Travel by road unless you are self driving, you can enjoy all the really nice scenery along the way. cheers!
