Hi,

I'll be visiting Chengdu next year. I will be needing a hotel for a few days. Since it's a very large town, I wonder if there are districts where it's quieter or more rustic than in others. Thanks, Petra

Mr.Jamie replied:

You can consider this one: 18 Steps ISland Hotel nearby Chengdu's New International Convention & Exhibition Center, on river side.

Nov. 10,2009 02:24
Mr.AMIGOXU(China) replied:

Chengdu Wang Jiang Hotel is a good choice, but a little expensive than that one.
It's located by the Sha He river, 4km east to downtown

1. how much dose it cost to take taxi frm airport to my hotel and how long dose it takes ?
2. is it possible to book a taxi from my hotel to most of the tourist attraction? like 峨嵋山 and 乐山 etc? how much dose it cost to these area ?
3. how dose the weather gonna be in chengdu during my visit?
4. Which are the are that you would recommend to photography hobbyist?
5. is it safe to travel around with the local taxi?
6. lastly is it a good time to visit chengdu during dec ?

Hope i'm not shooting too much question.. thanks in advance for your answer!

Nov. 5,2009 22:27
Mr.Shan replied:

1. the taxi fare is CNY50 at most, taking about 30~40 minutes on the way.
2. yes, you could ask your hotel for booking a taxi in advance. The suggested fare is CNY300 for one-way trip. Actually, the public transport to Mt.Emei and Mt.Qingcheng is very convenient.
3. it is already cold in Chengdu then, so please wear warm sweater or down jacket, especially to the mountain area,
4. well, these natural scenic spots are beautiful, the gorgeous place is Jiuzhaigou. However, Dec is not he best season for natural beauties.
5. please take it easy to take these taxi! In case of unhappy case, please tell the driver your destination clearly, or show him the places on the map~
6. Usually, it is suggested that you come to Chengdu in Spring or Sep and Oct, when you could enjoy the most beautiful profiles.

Nov. 5,2009 21:54
Ms.BROKEN(China) replied:

IF you take a taxi from The airport to your hotel maybe cost you RMB60.i don`t know how long .if you want to take a car to EMEI ,i think it about RMB700,not a taxi, you can find the car in a rent shop .when you in chengdu ,it`s cold, maybe about 6C.I think chengdu is beautiful, you can have picture anywhere,i suggest you go to the panda-centre,it`s safe in chengdu,so you needn`t worry about the safety.over.so much questions.....

Nov. 6,2009 07:47
Mr.SUNNY815(Singapore) replied:

Hi.. tks for the both reply.. i was thinking to spend 1 day in emei and 1 day in leshan.. is it possible to go emei in the morning and back to chengdu by evening?

Nov. 6,2009 20:14
Mr.Shan replied:

Hi, no need return to Chengdu. Leshan is just about 30kms away from Emei, so you could take a bus to arrive there in one hour. Actually, you could visit these two places in one day. If you would like to see the sunrise on Mt. Emei, you could stay one night on the mountain and then leave for Leshan the next day. In the afternoon of the second day, you could take a bus back to Chengdu from Leshan.

My husband & I plan to visit either Chengdu or Shanghai end of Jan 2010 to celebrate our 24th anniversary. My husband has been to Shanghai but not Chengdu. I have not been to both places. I prefer scenary more than shopping. We both like good food. Can someone suggest where should we visit - Chengdu or Shanghai? In Chengdu, is it convenient to travel on your own or should we get a tour guide with a car? Any hotel to recommend? What is the weather like in late Jan? Thank you very much.

Nov. 3,2009 23:07
Mr.Manny replied:

To see scenery, I think Chengdu is better, especially for food if you prefer spicy food. that will be much better. THe point is Jan seems not to be avery good month, or you can see Jiuzhaogou and Huanglong. You can travel Chengdu by your own. A tour guide is not a must. Well, you can see the panda in the breeding center. Anyway you need a plan to visit places in Chengdu and no problem to visit by public transportation, although have a car is convenient but costs a lot. The average temperature is about 5-6C in Chengdu, no more than 10C if the weather is sunny. Keep warm.

Hi,
i really need your advise on somethings:
1/ i saw a tour package in this web in chengdu for 5 days, is there any package which is shorter than that?
2/ i plan to go to Chengdu on 20-26 Dec, is it consider a high season there?
3/ is there any individual tour guide that we might have to guide us traveling around Chengdu (only me and fam, and not together with other persons), and with flexible schedule. if any, whom i may contact to?

Thank yo for your kind assistance and sorry to bothering you.. =)

Regards,
Natalie

Nov. 3,2009 22:24
Ms.Nancy replied:

To Ms Natalie. Dec20-26 is not a high season in Chengdu. Yes, you can have your private tour guide. Generally, travel agency can make your own package tour for you. You may try to contact this for details: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/contact_us.htm

My family and I will be in Chengdu from 7-14 November. Can you tell me what would the weather be like then? Also, is the local public bus service reliable? We are thinking of going around on our own to the Panda Research Centre and Mt Emei as we would like the flexibility of time.

Also what is the time difference between Chengdu and Malaysia?

Oct. 26,2009 21:28
Mr.Leo replied:

Most of the days will be cloudy but the weather is not cold at all. Please wear your autumn clothes, such as long-sleeves shirts, jacket or a thin sweater to the mountain area.

The city-bus is in operation as usual, so please take it easy. There is seldom time difference between Chengdu and Malaysia.

About 10minutes walking distance from Crowne Plaza to Celebrity Hotel. Crowne Plaza right at Chunxi Road, Pizza hut, Kfc, Mcdonald surrounding. Suggest you may try Haiyatt Garden Hotel, good location, right in Chunxi Road.
