As a traveler myself, accommodation is one of the pivotal point to me.

Safety, hygiene, transportation, communication (both telephone and internet) and price are all to be considered which is not easy to be done in an unknown city.

I am here to provide you with selected accommodation information and if you have any question about travel in Chengdu you are welcome to send E-mail to me.

Hey! I plan to visit Chengdu on July, 20th. Is it really so dieing hot or temperature is not so exhausting and it's still worth it?

Ms.Yuan(China) replied:

It's really very hot. But it's not so exhausting. You can avoid geting around in the late afernoon. Just visit the city in the morning or after the sunset. It's very cool when you stay in the hotel with air conditioners.

Mr.Frankie replied:

Although this city doesn't have plenty of sunshine, you could feel muggy for its geographical location. And, please take your umbrella. If you are not very tired of the hot days, come to Chengdu in July is okay. You could go to its nearby mountains and valleys, where the days are cool and beautiful in summer>

Hi hi,

I will be in Chendu sometimes in June and have 3 days 2 nights there. Do I have enough time to travel up to Jiu Zhai Gou? If not, where you would suggest? Many thanks!

May. 28,2009 08:37
Ms.Anna(Germany) replied:

Hi,
I just came back from Chengdu, I spent 3 days there, and there was not enough time to go up to Jiu Zhai Gou, as the bus to there takes 12 hours.

For a day trip, I could sugesst Leshan Giant Buddah and the irrigation system, or Emei Shan for 2 days.

Most hostels offer excursions, that can give you an idea of what can be done in one or two days.

Hope this helps

Ms.FRESHONION(Russian Federation) replied:

Hello, Anna

You put 2 days for Emeishan. Can you pls tell me if it's possible to avoid queues for bus and cable up to the top if to start not in early morning but, say, before/after lunch?

Jun. 19,2009 21:42
Ms.Lee replied:

Hell, I think that you will not be involved in such kind of problem unless you go to Eeishan during holidays or festivals, such as the National Holiday on Octobe 1~8, 2009.

Visit Chengdu? Don’t forget to savor its tea culture. The local people prefer living at ease. They like Mahjong. There is a new exhibition center displaying mahjong and Chinese tea culture opened in Wenshu Yuan Street in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Located near the famous Wenshu Monastery, it is China's first Mahjong and Tea Culture Exhibition Hall. Over five hundred exhibits are on display in the Mahjong Hall, of which many are very precious cultural relics. There are mahjong pieces made of emerald, the most ancient mahjong in the form of pasteboards, Jade mahjong made during the Qing Dynasty (1689 - 1911) and also mahjong coming from America, Japan and Vietnam. Meanwhile, in the Hall of Tea Culture, visitors can view a variety of more than four hundred teapots from different dynasties and used by different ethnic people. In particular, modern techniques have been applied in some areas of the tea making experience, allowing visitors to learn Chinese tea culture in an amusing way.

On Jan 18, Chengdu Happy Valley was formally opened to visitors. It is made up of seven thematic parks: Sunny Harbor, Happy Time, Caribbean Tornado, Bashu Flavor, Flying Island, Magic Castle, and Flying across the Mediterranean. Besides many advanced rides, visitors can also enjoy the carefully-designed performances in the park. Don't hesitate, it is fantastic indeed!
