Mr.Leo replied:

Zhangzhou Yunding Hostspring Hotel in Jiangjunshan Park. There is no direct shuttle bus from Xiamen airport to Yunxiao. My suggestion is use the airport bus to Zhangzhou City first and then take a taxi or city bus to Yunxiao County after that.

Hi, my family is planning a trip to china, xiamen, yun xiao. (福建省,云霄县).
We have been there 12yrs ago ( 1997).We believe there is alot of changes. We stay in 云霄第二招待所 during our last visit.
Would appreciate if someone failiar with this place? Can help us by giving us more info, such as
* which is the nearest airport
* how long is the journey from airport to 云霄县?
* any hotel in 云霄县? can the hotel arrange transport from the airport?

Thanks for your kind assistance.

Oct. 24,2009 03:59
Mr.Leo replied:

Xiamen has its own airport, so I think you could fly there. The Yunxiao Xian is located in Zhangzhou City, the distance between which and Xiamne is no less than 50kms. Actually, I think you could rent a van to take you there.

Can someone help me how to plan my trip (hotel, attractions and bus to Putian)?

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Mr.He(China) replied:

There is a bus station on the left of the airport arrival gate and you may take the bus No.27 to the end station named Lundu. Then you can take the ferryboat(it's free for you forward trip and pay just on back trip)to Gulangyu and check in a hotel. Then you may have a stroll along the island. Next morning you may get up early and climb the Riguang Yan before am 6:30(you don't need pay entrance ticket, hehe!). Then you can visit Shuzhuang Garden and Haoyue Garden. You may have lunch in Longtou Road coz there are many local flavour snacks! Time is tight? Go back by the ferryboat and take bus to Songbai Bus Station for going home!

Get to Hubin Bus Station of Xiamen to find the buses to Dongshan which will pass Chen Dai. Vice versa when you come back. Take the bus from Dongshan back to Xiamen.

Hello pals. From Xiamen we wanna go to some villages to look-see the Hakka round houses, and hopefully home-stay overnight in a Hakka round house. Which bus ( or buses) can we take and where does it go from please? And which village/s can we do home-stay in a Hakka round house pls?
Also, how far is it from Xiamen to Wuyi, and is there a train or local bus, 'cos we also wanna visit the Wuyishan scenic area.

Oct. 16,2009 22:37
Mr.Free bird(China) replied:

Hi Grog. I hope you can speak chinese.

from Xiamen, take a bus going to Yongding(永定)。go to Songbai(松柏长途汽车站)long distance bus station, you can book your ticket there or buy then leave in an hour or so. Tell the bus conductor where you want to get off(we did at Zhencheng lou, many people get off there). From there, you can start visiting the tulous. the king of tulou, chengqi lou, is 4 kms from there. you could either take a motorbike or car for a 3~4 hour tour. the car would be much cheaper as you could share the costs with 3 other people.

from Xiamen, my friends took the train to Wuyi. if my memory's not wrong, it took them around 8hrs. haven't been there so I have not much advice. good luck!

Hello pals, this is my schedule:
Jkt Hkg Jkt On Oct 15 then take bus to Guangzhou
Oct 15-19 will be in guangzhou for canton fair.
Oct 19 HKG TPE, departing at 13.25 FROM HKG,
so my question: can I take train from gz east railway to catch to my flight to TPE departing from HKG? or
shall I leave GZ on Oct 18 to shenzhen, and then on Oct 19 just cross the border in Lowu to catch my flight? or
Shall I leave GZ on Oct 18 to Hongkong and stay a nite in Hkg? or
Just take a coach/bus from CTS on Oct 19 to HKIA ?

Pls advise. Many thanks dear Pals.

Oct. 11,2009 23:06
Mr.Jamie replied:

You can take the Eat Rail to Hung Hom and then shift to airport Bus A21 to the airport. From Shenzhen to HKIA, I recommend you get to Shekou of Shenzhen to take ferry direct to Hong Kong airport. This should be the fastest way. Or you can get to west end of Bagua Yilu to catch the bus (hour buses a day)to Hk airport. If you have nothing to do in Shenzhen, you can get to Hong Kong and have a short see on the city. Perhaps, the recoomendation is expensive than Shenzhen.

Hi Paul, thanks very much for your kind reply. Just want to share that I've issued my e-ticket with china airlines (HKG TPE HKG for HKD 1,437), but the next day i just remember for cathay pacific (and they quote the price below what I got from CI), and even booking flight is cheaper (HKD 1,316 also with CI). So, this is just a lesson for me , i should be more careful next time.

Cheers............

Hi,
i planned to visit Xiamen in Mar 2010.
i have approx. 10days in China and i know i will not need 10 days all to visit Xiamen.
Appreciate if u can advise, which other cities i can visit as well in my given 10 days trip.

FYI i hv 5 adults and 3 young kids (5years, 3years and 10mths old) on this trip.
Appreciate if u can advise the estimated cost to hire a mini van and a local guide during our stay there.

thanks

Sep. 26,2009 04:18
Mr.Hank replied:

You may consider take a flight from Xiamen to Shanghai for a 3-day's visit and then take a train to Hangzhou of Zhejiang Province for another 3 days. Finally, you could take a flight from Hangzhou to Xiamen easily.

If you would like to rent a van and a guide for every place, why don't you participate in a tour group. Since you already have 8 people together, which could make up of a small group by yourselves. This method will ease your trip a lot~

Hi, consider the three star hotels at this page:

You'd better book one in advance as you are traveling during national holidays.
