I would like to spend about four days in Harbin from mid December. Will there be snow and do I get to see snowfall? What travel advisory do you have for me, travelling in a group of about 5 persons under economy budget?

Oct. 19,2009 22:34
Mr.Clark replied:

Yes, you can see snow in mid December. For the Snow and Ice Festival is getting closer at that time, suggest you book cheaper hotel in advance.

Oct. 24,2009 16:24
Ms.AS(Canada) replied:

I am born and raised in Harbin, to actually see the Snow and Ice festival, I'd suggest you to go in January, that's the best time to go

I would like to take a trip to Harbin by the end of Dec, can I see the ice and snow sculpture during that time? Besides, I would like to know what's the temperature of Harbin and Dalian during the end of Dec. Appreciate your reply soon.

Oct. 12,2009 22:16
Mr.Clark replied:

Yes, you can see the ice and snow sculptures at that time. As to the temperature, it is averagely -16C in Harbin and colder at night. Dalian is much better. It is about 0-10C in Dalian, but windy, which make you feel colder than the actual temperature.

Ms.Mei(CN) replied:

Usually, the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival starts at every Dec, so I think you could see the ice sculpture then. Not very sure which hotels could meet your needs. I think you could refer to this website's hotel list at http://www.travelchinaguide.com/hotel/harbin-hotels.htm

Do you mean ice and snow sculptures? Not ready. It has snow. You can get to the Central Street to see exotic buildings. Or consider my suggestion given to Mr anant beblow.

I will be in Beijing during last week of October - First week of november.
Is there anything to see in Harbin during this time if I want to have a side trip there?

Oct. 8,2009 02:29
Mr.Clark replied:

It is not the most charming season in Harbin. No snow and ice. This may be a pity, but Harbin has many exotic buildings to see. If possible, you can take train or bus to Russia from here, or just get to the counties on the border.

Thanks

Oct. 7,2009 02:28
Mr.PT(Australia) replied:

I've been there three years now, wear warm clothes and head/face covering outside all insides are heated BUT you can buy very cheaply suitable items. The restaurants are wonderful, taxis are about US$ 2 to $ where ever you want to go, shopping is underground in long tunnels, but you MUST be able to speak Mandarin

Hi everyone! I'm traveling from Heihe to Harbin by train, how am I getting to Harbin airport the cheapest way. thanks in advance.

Sep. 18,2009 03:35
Ms.Heather Liquer replied:

I suppose your train will arrive at Harbin Railway Station, not East Railway Station. So, if you take train 4032 arriving at 20:02, you have to hire a cab to the airport (at least 110RMB).

If you take train K7034 or K7036, you could hire a taxi to drive you to the Aviation Building at Zhongshan Road fistly. The taxi fare is about 10RMB~15RMB. Then, you could take the airport shuttle bus to Harbin Airport with a fare of CNY20.

Hi everyone!
I need an easy and fast track. I only have a matter of 2 hours to transfer to the next station. I'm arriving in 4032 station from Heihe, how am I getting to station K58 which will depart for Shanghai? ANd how much will it cost me?

Jul. 20,2009 03:36
Mr.Jack replied:

4032 reaches Harbin East Railway Station, you need to transfer to Harbin Railway Station to catch K58. City Bus 6 can be used after you get out of the east railway station. The bus will run approximately one hour to the other railway station. If you want to save time, take a taxi, about 20RMB for the fare.

Jul. 20,2009 08:37
Mr.Russel(Russia) replied:

I'm sorry I didn't quiet catch up with the infos you gave me. I checked on the map of Harbin but I only saw Harbin East Railway Station and Harbin South Railway Station. Is the Harbin Railway Station you mentioned is the South Railway Station? thanks!

Jul. 21,2009 03:56
Mr.Jack replied:

Yes, there is a south railway station in Harbin, but it is not what you will use. The Harbin Railway Station is located at 1, Tielu Street, Nangang Ditrict, just close to the city center. Harbin East Railway Station, also called San Ke Shu (three trees) Railway Station, is located at Daowai District.
