Uygur is an ethnic minority mainly lived in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China. With a profound history and culture, it draws attention of people from other places of China and even the world. The Uygur music, dance and especially the Uygur Cuisine are extremely appealing.

Being so far from Shanghai, the Uygur Cuisine has still taken root in this big city. There are many Uygur Cuisine restaurants in Shanghai offering authentic and delicious food and drink with Xinjiang Uygur flavor, including various beef and mutton dishes, shashliks, Dapan Chicken, stir-fried noodles, Nang Cake and yoghourt. In these restaurants, dishes are always served in large containers and there usually are Xinjiang Uygur music and dance shows.

Chinese name: 龟兹古丽 (qiū cí gǔ lì)
Specialties: 'Qiu Ci' is the name of an ancient kingdom in northwest China, roughly in today's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Qu Ci Gu Li is a restaurant with distinctive Uygur features. The delicate murals, the typical Xinjiang music and dance show, and the savory Uygur food in this restaurant will never disappoint you.

Ani Bayi
Chinese name: 艾尼巴亿 (ài ní bā yì)
Specialties: It is a famous Uygur Cuisine restaurant in Shanghai. Dishes here are of authentic Xinjiang Uygur flavor. The Dapan Chicken served in a large plate is terrific. Uygur music and dance are sometimes showed. You can also dance with the performers.

Specialties: It is a pleasant dining place with dainty decoration of Xinjiang Uygur style. The dining tables, chairs and tableware are all delicate. The special musical instruments hung on the wall of the restaurant show the exotic culture of the Uygur. Foods here are satisfying and there is Xinjiang music and dance show at 19:30 every evening.
