Although Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet, the accommodation options are limited. Most just meet basic standards; some are even without private bathrooms. However, more and more modern hotels are now under construction in Shigatse. Even though they are not as comfortable as those in other big cities in China, they try to provide a clean and standard accommodation for all travelers. Apart from them, you can find many hostels, too.

Shigatse Hotel (3-star)
Shigatse Hotel is the best and oldest hotel in town, and has very typical Tibetan characteristics. There's a 24 hour supply of hot water. The hotel is a 4-storey building with clean rooms and standard level of service.

Shenhu Hotel, Shigatse
Shenhu Hotel, Shigatse is built to a 3-star standard. There are over 70 guest rooms and suites in total, each with comfortable living condition.

Shigatse Wuzi Hotel
Shigatse Wuzi Hotel is a hotel with strong Tibetan features. There are over 80 guest rooms and suites in this hotel, each with comfortable and standard facilities.

Gangjian Fruit Orchard Hotel
Gangjian Fruit Orchard Hotel is directly opposite the Tashihunpo Monastery, which is very convenient to visit. The rooms though very cheap, are quite clean.

Sangzhuzi Hotel
Sangzhuzi Hotel provides a basic accommodation. The guest rooms are standard, but not that comfortable. There is limited, timed hot water supply.
