Hengyang enjoys four distinct seasons due to its pleasant subtropical maritime monsoon climate. The climate is mild and wet, warm in winter and cool in summer. The annual average temperature is 18.2C (about 65F).

We can see the beautiful scenery on Mt. Hengshan: Spring Cloud, Summer Pine, Autumn Sunrise, and Winter Snow. It seems to be suitable to go there in all seasons. However, it is recommended to visit Mt. Hengshan at the end of summer and in the beginning of autumn because the weather in this period becomes cooler but the trees are still green. If you want to see the snowy scenery, you'd better come to Hengshan during December to February. The misty marvelous spectacle can be seen in this season.
