I intend to go to Beijing and Tianjin on the 23-11-09, how is the weather there and what type of clothing I should bring besides is there any threat for Swine flu during that period? What about begining of October? I prefer a cool weather rather than a cold weather, so what do you think will be the best time for me to proceed? Thanks......
Oct. 23,2009 04:13 Mr.Leo replied:
At the end of Nov, Beijing will have cold and dry days. You need a warm sweater and overcoat. In Oct, the weather is fine comparetively~ Tianjin is a little warmer than Beijing, but not very better, too.

Usually, it should be sunny and comfortable during the early fall in Oct. But, most of cities in China have plenty of rainfall this year, so does Tianjin. As a result, the weather may be a little cooler but has no bad effection on traveling outsides.

I did most of these places last year, In MAY. It was anywhere from 80-95 degress farenheit. Not sure what the celsius conversion is. But it was basically hot, but NO RAIN, if you can't make it in May, then do not go in june-july-august, too Hot and too rainy. I would wait until September. The Yangtze River cruise was Just breathaking, I went on a 4 day one, if there is a longer one than 4 days, (I think) , then I would suggest the longer one. I am going back in just a few weeks, at end of august, can't wait. Doing different cities this time.

If you stay in Beijing, it is easy to book a hotel during Chinese new year. And, not so expensive than other time~ Maybe you go to Harbin, not fare from Beijing, where you could participate in the Ice & Snow Festival. Very gorgeous!

Well, I think Kunming in Yunnan Province may meet your need, which has comfortable cliamte all year round. However, I don't think there has so much good work opportunity. In this sense, you may consider Qingdao in Shandong Province and Dalian in Liaoning Province. These two coastal cities are so beautiful with moderate climate, too~

Hello.. I'm looking at travelling to China & Hong Kong in Feb 2010 for the Chinese New Year. Hoping to start in Beijing, travel to Xian, over to Shanghai and down to Hong Kong.
Can someone please tell me, if Feb is a good time to be travelling in China? Will it be very cold? And will the tour operators be operating due to the New Year? Thank you for your help!!
Jun. 11,2009 04:34 Ms.Elizabeth replied:
Hi, Ms. Vyna. Febuary is still cold in China, but if you want to spend the Chinese New Year here, it would be a good idea. Well, keep warm. The average temperature in Feb in Beijing, 0-3C, about 5C in Xian, and about 7C in Shanghai. Yes, tours are operated all year round. Or you can visit these cities before Christmas? Generally speaking, the best time to visit Beijing and Xian is autumn. Hong Kong's climate is favorable in winter.
