I do agree with Gerd Ring. Take the phone with you can be a good methord. Or you can copy your itinerary to your family or your friend at home, with the hotel phone number where you will stay and the detailed contact information of your travel agent in case of any emergency.

Keith, i don't know whether your US cell phone can be used in China, but you can rent a cell phone after arrive in China. It also can be convenient. You could ask your agent to arrange this for you.

Dear Gerd Ring, do you know whether my US cell phone can be used in China with a China SIM card? I think it must be expensive to use my US SIM card in China, so i want to buy a China SIM card then. Do you know whether it's feasible?
