Day 01Arrival in Shanghai

Our guide will meet you outside the customs at Shanghai Airport and transfer you to the hotel. After a short rest in the hotel, you will visit the Nanjing Road, the Bund area along the Huangpu River and visit an old street in Shanghai. Nanjing Road has for long been a business street. Nowadays, famous stores both from home and abroad stand on its two sides, shaping a 'Shopping Paradise' in Shanghai. Besides, the distinctive sculptures, lovely sightseeing small trains and renowned buildings make the street a famous tourist site. Turn to the Bund, there are over 50 classical buildings of different western styles, praised as the exhibition of exotic building clusters

Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai

Day 02Shanghai

In the morning, you will travel to Shanghai Museum, which boasts permanent galleries of ancient bronze wares, sculptures, ceramics, jades, paintings, calligraphies as well as arts and crafts of the ethnic minorities in China. After that, move on to the famous Yuyuan Garden. Originally built as a private garden by an official to please his old father, the garden is rich in charming landscapes like pavilions, corridors, streams, courtyards and rockeries. Among the various rockeries, there is one called Great Rockery, which is the largest and oldest rockery in the southern region of the Yangtze River. Standing on it, you can get a bird's eye view of the garden. Around noon, we will invite you to an a la carte welcome lunch of Shanghai and Cantonese cuisines at a well-known local restaurant. Afterwards, you will board on the Victoria cruise ship and depart to the amazing Yangtze River at 17:00. Dinner will be served on board.

Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Nanjing

Day 03Nanjing

Today, the ship will stop in Nanjing where you will disembark to visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum and an ancient style bazaar surrounding the Confucius Temple. Mainly consisting of Fraternity Archway, Entrance to the Mausoleum, the Stele Pavilion and the Sacrificial Hall, the whole Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum Scenic Area resembles an alarm bell as seen from the air, symbolizing the noble spirit and heroic efforts of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. In the bazaar, you can appreciate the ancient cultural remains, taste local snacks and buy some local handcrafts.

Day 04Excursion to Huangshan

There will be an onshore excursion to the splendid Huangshan Mountain today. The saying 'no need to visit any other mountain after viewing the Five Sacred Mountains of China, and even no need to visit the five after viewing Huangshan Mountain' has well explained the charm of the mountain, which boasts strange pines, fantastic rocks, the sea of clouds and hot springs -- the four supreme sights on the mountain. Besides the amazing scenery, Huangshan Mountain also boasts abundant natural resources and great variety of zoological species.

Day 05Excursion to Wuhan

The ship will berth in Wuhan allowing you to take a brief tour to see the largest city in central China. You could visit Hubei Provincial Museum to learn more about the long history and splendid culture of this region. The museum consists of Chime Bells Exhibition Hall, Chu Culture Exhibition Hall and Comprehensive Exhibition Building, exhibiting over 200,000 historical collections. You should not miss the Chime Bells which is the largest bronze musical instrument ever discovered, and the priceless king's sword of 2,500 years ago.

Day 06Yangtze River

Sail along the Yangtze River for the entire day. Yangtze River is the longest river in China and the cradle of Chinese civilization, thus it is reputed as the 'Mother River of China' together with the Yellow River. Along it, there are many blossoming cities like Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuhan and cultural relics such as Ci Qi Kou, Dazu Rock Carvings, Fengdu Ghost City and Shibaozhai. The most attractive point of the cruise should be the charming natural scenery along the river, especially the Three Gorges section, known as 'a poetic gallery' and ranked as one of the top ten tourist destinations in China. During the cruise today, you may also join the culture programs held on board for entertainment in addition to enjoying the fabulous scenery.

Day 07Three Gorges Dam

At 07:30, the cruise will arrive in Yichang and sail through the Gezhou Dam, the first large hydro-electric project on Yangtze River. It mainly functions to generate electricity and improve navigation channel. After lunch, you will disembark to visit the Three Gorges Dam, one of the most magnificent hydroelectric projects in the world. You may climb to the Viewing Platform on Tanziling to have a bird's eye view of the whole project. Late in the afternoon, the cruise will sail through the Three Gorges Dam Ship Lock.

Day 08Yangtze Three Little Gorges

While the ship is bounding for the Wu Gorge, you will see a series of astonishing natural beauties. The highlight here is the twelve peaks in different postures and manners as well as the moving legend behind. Afterwards, the ship will stop at the Daning River for an exciting excursion to the Three Little Gorges. You will find many mossy rocks, verdant plants, ancient plank roads, hanging coffins and rare animals along it. The voyage will be continued to pass through the Qutang Gorge, the shortest but the most majestic among the Three Gorges.

Yangtze River cruise tour

Day 09Fengdu

An onshore excursion to Fengdu is arranged this morning. In Chinese legends, Fengdu is the 'Capital of Ghost Country' or the "Ghost City'. Therefore, the scenic area here has been constructed as an imagined netherworld based on the juridical system of human kind. Besides, Fengdu is rich in Confucian, Buddhism and Taoism culture as well as beautiful natural scenery.

Day 10Departure from Chongqing

Your Yangtze River cruise tour will come to the end at around 09:30 when the ship arrives at the pier of Chongqing. Our local professional tour guide will meet you on board and take you for a brief city tour in Chongqing. You will travel to the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo, which is a protection and breeding base of giant pandas. After that, pay a visit to the Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell, who has forged profound friendship with Chinese people during the World War II. You could walk in his bedroom, office, meeting rooms and basement as well as read his articles of that time. At noon, a rich buffet lunch will be served at a 5-star hotel. Afterwards, our guide will see you off at Chongqing Airport.
