8 Days of Chongqing - Fengdu - Fengjie - Lianghekou - Gaoqiaozheng - Fengjie - Qutang Gorge - Peishi - Badong. - Xiling Gorge - Sandouping - Yichang

Day 01: Arrival in Chongqing
Arrive in Chongqing and get prepared. Stay overnight at a local hotel.


Day 02: Chongqing
Take a city tour. Visit the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo. Embark Yangtze Ferry Liner in the evening, and set sail at 20:00.


Day 03: Chongqing - Fengdu - Fengjie
Hike around Ghost City of Fengdu. Visit Zhangfei Temple. Arrive in Fengjie in the evening. Stay overnight at a local hotel.


Day 04: Fengjie - Lianghekou - Gaoqiaozheng
Drive across the Yangtze and head to Lianghekou (1 hour.) Trek to Gaoqiaozheng (12.5 miles/4 hours). There you could see the Old Paper-making Mill and Water Wheel. Take a bus to visit Heaven Pit and Earth Crack.


Day 05: Gaoqiaozheng - Fengjie - Qutang Gorge
Drive back to Fengjie. Trek around the Qutang Gorge (20 miles/6 hours).


Day 06: Qutang Gorge - Peishi - Badong.
Take a small ferry to Hengshi. Trek to Peishi (20 mile/7 hours through the Wu Gorge). Take a boat to Badong.


Day 07: Badong - Xiling Gorge - Sandouping - Yichang
Take a boat to the Xiling Gorge. Trek to Sandouping. Visit the construction site of Three Gorge Project. Drive back to Yichang.


Day 08: Departure from Yichang
Leave Yichang according to your own schedule.


 

I was just reading the 8 day itinerary from Chongqing to Yichang... I'm looking at doing the same in late nov early dec, BUT from Yichang or Wuhan to Chongqing. Any Opinions on this? And are accommodation easy to find along the towns you mentioned... difficult to find them on the internet. Thanks

Hi, I am planning backpack around china for a month in April or May nex year, sites i aim to visit are Guilin, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Tiger Leaping gorge, possibly a few other places but cant think off the top of my head, I will be on a budget so does anybody have any idea as to how much I will need roughly to survive in China for a month?
Any advice would be most welcome,
