I would like to give some advice about traveling in China by train. If you will have a long journey(more than 5 hours), do remember to take the sleeper train instead of hard seats. If you will just take a short travel, soft seats are acceptable, but you'd better choose a fast train which will have a better condition. Never try to take a hard seat, it is too terrible to bear. You could refer to this article for a clearer idea. http://community.travelchinaguide.com/review2.asp?i=943&keyword=train
