Visa Fees

1. Regular Visa Fee per Person
The regular visa fee for American citizens is adjusted since August 1, 2007. No matter of the number of entries, the individual applicant is charged CAD 110 while the group visa is charged CAD 90 per person. The expedited service fee doesn't change.

2. Expedited Service Fee per Person
The regular processing time of a visa is 4 working days. For urgent cases, expedited service is available if the consular officer agrees. Moreover, extra fees will be charged as following:

1 working day processing (applications need be presented before 11:00) CAD 50
2-3 working days processing CAD 35

Note:
1. The visa fees are paid when you pick up your visa. Please pay by cash, money order or certified checks. If you use certified checks, please write the company telephone at the back of the check.

2. Applications by mail/courier are not accepted. The Mail Back Service is not available, either.

3. The group visa for the individual Canadian is CAD 40. Canadians enjoy privileges of expedited service for applying a group visa. They are charged CAD 25 per person for 1 working day processing; CAD 17.5 per person for 2-3 working days processing.

Tips

1. Applicants who will visit Tibet Autonomous Region should get an approval notice from the Tourism Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region (Tel: +86-891-6834313, Fax: +86-891-6834632). Please offer the written approval notice when you apply for a visa. You can also contact the China Travel Agency in Canada (Tel: +1-416-9798993, Fax: +1-416-9798220)

2. The peak of application: Monday, 1-2 working days after every holiday, between 11:00-12:00, 13:30-14:30 in every working day. You'd better avoid the time quantum; otherwise, you will queue up for a long time.

3. The off-peak time: Between 09:00-10:30, 14:30-15:30, from Monday to Friday. During this time quantum, applicants are rare and you can save your time.

4. Between May-June, September-October in every year, there are many applicants. In order to save your time, you can apply for a visa in advance according to your planned travel.

5. Make a good preparation for required documents for applying a visa.

6. Visa applications by mail/courier are not acceptable. The mail back service is not available.

7. Please submit your applications to Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General in Canada according to consular justification.
