Note:  
1. Chinese embassy does not accept Cash or Personal checks as means of payment. Please pay by Visa, MasterCard or Visa Electron. 
2. Fees for other countries may differ from that listed above, and will be charged according to the reciprocity agreement by the Chinese Embassy.

 Tips 
1. The regular processing time is 4 working days.
2. The Embassy has suspended the express and rush service to the applicants temporarily from July 5, 2012.
3. Mailed applications are not acceptable.
4. No appointment is required for submission of application.
5. Applications can be dropped off by someone else entrusted or a travel agent at the Consular Section of the Embassy if applicants cannot go in person. 
6. Applicants can pick up their passports themselves or by someone else entrusted or travel agencies with the pickup form (pink colored) on or after the pick-up date.

 Main Types & Requirements

Types	Purpose
Tourist/Family Visit Visa (L)	It is issued to a foreign citizen who comes for tourist purpose, family visit or other personal affairs.
Business Visa (F)	It is issued to a foreign citizen who is invited for a visit, research, lecture, business, exchanges in the fields of science, technology, education, culture and sports, or attending various kinds of trade fairs or exhibitions, or short-term study/intern practice for less than 6 months.
Student Visa (X)	It is issued to a foreign citizen who comes for the purpose of study for a period of six or more.
Work Visa (Z)	It is issued to a foreign citizen who is to take up a post or employment nd his or her accompanying family members, or to give commercial performances.
Transit Visa (G)	It is issued to a foreign citizen who is to transit through China on his or her way to a third country (or region).
Hong Kong SAR & Macao SAR Visa	Finnish citizens (including Chinese who have joined Finnish Nationality) are exempt from Visa to both Hong Kong and Macao for 90 days.
