Transportation to the Embassy of Eritrea in Beijing:
The Embassy of Eritrea is located in the Ta Yuan Diplomatic Office Buildings. You can take a public bus and get off at Ta Yuan Cun stop and then you can find the embassy very easily. The buses routes include Bus No. 110, 24, 413, 418, 688 and 823.
General Information of Eritrea:
Name: The State of Eritrea
People: In 2004, the State of Eritrea has a population of about 4.5 million which consists of nine nations, respectively, Tigrays, Tigre, Headareb, Bil, Kunama, Nara, Saho, Afar and Rasgaida. Among these, Tigrays and Tigre people are in the majority in this country.
Language: Almost every nation has its own language and the major languages are Tigrinya and Tigre. English and Arabic are the official languages.
Religion: Christianity and Islam play a dominant role in the country and a few people conform to Catholicism and Traditional Fetishism.
Geography: The country is situated in the northeast of Africa, and it borders upon Ethiopia, Sudan and Djibouti. Standing in face with the Red Sea, it has a coastline of 1,200 kilometers (746 miles). The country covers about 124,320 square kilometers (48,000 square miles).
Capital: Asmara is the capital and has a population of about 500,000 in 2006.
Important Festival: May 24 (Independency Day)
Climate: The high plateau areas have a pleasant climate with an average temperature of 17 centigrade (62.6 F); While in the east and west of the country, the climate is dry and hot with an average temperature of 30 centigrade (86 F) and 28 centigrade (82.4 F) respectively. In the seacoast of the Red Sea, there are desserts.
Relationship with China: The State of Eritrea established the diplomatic relation with China in 1993. Since then, the cooperation between the two countries has got a smooth development.

I would like to visit your country but I don't know how to apply for a tourist visa as there is no Eritrea embassy in Hong Kong. Please advise on how to obtain a tourist visa, what documents are required for, whethere I need any letter of invitation for the application, the visa fees and how many days it takes for processing the application and whether I can apply for visa on arrival.
