Good day!

I'm a Swedish citizen currently working in Kyoto. My wife is a Chinese citizen and has a Chinese passport. Since my work in Japan is project based I was only granted an internship visa because the project is connected through a university. I would like my wife to come to Kyoto to visit me but I'm not sure if it is possible with my intership visa. Is it possible? If so, how should we proceed? I'm grateful for some directions.

Best Regards!
/Tal

Mr.Peter replied:

As I Know, if you hold a work visa of Japan, your wife can easily get a visa to Japan but you just hold an intership visa.

Mr.Austin replied:

You should apply for Business Visa to Dalian, China because you study in China just for 4 months. If you study in China for more than 6 months, you should apply for student visa.

You also should apply for visa to Japan at Consular Office of Japan in Dalian.

I am a US citizen and my wife just received her K-1 visa to the USA. She is from Shaanxi, China. Our plane tickets leave Beijing to Tokyo with a 2 hour stopover in Tokyo, Japan then continuing to Seattle, Washington USA. Will my wife need a visa for a stopover in Tokyo, Japan?
