The diplomatic relationship between China and Kenya was established on December 14th, 1963. In the early period, the two nations kept a good communication. However, after 1965, their relations became agency diplomacy. In the early 1970s, they restored the embassy relationship. In 1978, Mr. Moi was selected as the president of Kenya. After that, Kenya always keeps a smooth diplomatic relationship with China. The communications between the two nation's officials increase and the two countries cooperate in many fields.
Since 1963, China has helped Kenya build Moi International Sports Center, and marsh gas pools and so on. In recent years, the trade volume between China and Kenya goes up substantially. China exports electrical appliances, dead stocks, textiles, daily use, architectural materials, medicines, etc and imports black tea, coffee and leather products from Kenya.

My name is Jack Perkowski and I have lived in China for fifteen years. I live in Sanlitun, a block or so from your embassy. In 1994, I established ASIMCO, one of the largest components companies in China with 17 factories throughout the country. I have literally built the company, brick by brick, into a $500 million sales company and one of the most important components companies in China. My book, Managing the Dragon, about doing business in China has been published in the US, the UK and China. I have been invited by the Nairobi chapter of YPO to speak to their members, and I will be leaving for Kenya on Wednesday. I would like to make contact with the Kenya embassy either before or after my trip. In the meanwhile, I would like to know if there are any particular messages that the Ambassador would like me to convey to the businessmen of Kenya. I can be contacted by e-mail at jperkowski@jfpholdings.com or by phone at 8610-8532-2079. Thank you
