Can foreigners apply visa on arrival?

hi! I’m Kenyan by nationality, I wanna go to Guangzhou via Hongkong, will stay HKG for few days, I do understand that I can get Hong Kong visa on arrival, but how about Guangzhou visa, any idea if can get from Hongkong and how long it takes. any contact for this Guangzhou visa office? Please help!

Natasha. You will need to get a Chinese visa to visit Guangzhou. This can be done in HK, but will take 4 days for the standard service. You can get it in less time, but obviously the price goes up steeply. You can also get one from the Chinese embassy in Nairobi before you leave.
If you are applying in HK, then the cheapest and easiest place to do this is with an agent called CTS. They have many offices all over HK.
There are many ways to get to GZ from HK, but the two most sensible ones are bus, and train. There is a direct train from Hung Hom station which takes 1.45 mins, and costs about $200. The bus (also run by CTS) is about $100, but takes over 3 hours. You can also catch two trains (one from Tsim Sha Tsui to Lo Wu, and then cross the border by foot and get another one from Lo Wu to GZ) which costs about $120 and takes about 2.5 hours (providing there is not too much congestion at the border).
