Important Notice about Change of Chinese Visa Application Method
The demand for Chinese visas has grown rapidly in recent years. To provide a better service for visa applicants, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) was introduced to Mumbai by the Chinese Consulate General in March, 2009.  Then the applicants from Maharashtra and Karnataka should submit visa application to CVASC rather than the Consulate Geneal of China in Mumbai.

Holders of diplomatic, service (official) passports, or journalists and media employees applying for Chinese visa or applicants applying for Hong Kong Visa, Macau Visa, Notarization or Authentication can still submit their applications directly to the Consulate General of China in Mumbai.

Travel agencies or other agents can still receive visa applications. However, all the applications received by them should be submitted to the CVASC.

Besides the visa fees to be collected on behalf of the consulate, the CVASC will charge every applicant an additional amount of service fees regardless of approval or rejection of his/her application by the consulate. The normal service fee is Rs.610 (inclusive of service tax) per passport. The next working day (express) service fee is Rs.775 (inclusive of service tax).
