Hi!hope you can help me. I am working here in Beijing and have a residence permit which will expire on February 08, 2010. I am planning to go to the Philippines to celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December (Thursday) and go back here in Beijing on the 27th (Sunday). My questions are (1) Do I still need to register as Balik - Manggagawa and secure an Exit clearance from the POEA? (2) Will there be no problem entering China again if I have that residence permit? Thank you so much.
Nov. 21,2009 21:55 Mr.Alex(Hong Kong / China) replied:
I'm not clear about the policy of POEA about OFA, but I know that the residence permit is another kind of visa on your passport, generally speaking, you can enter China by holding it. However, I read a news that a Finnish woman is refused to enter Shanghai at Pudong airport by holding a Shanghai residence permit. The Pudong airport immigration officer said that residence permit is not equal to visa. She should apply for a Chinese visa. For safety, you can go to the local public security bureau to apply for a multiple entry work visa.
thank you sir dylan, can i know po if whose person to the embassy that i need to talk regarding to my situation, thank you very much sir,
Nov. 21,2009 21:47 Mr.Helper replied:
If your application is denied, the embassy won't give the reason. But there is another possibility, the agency tell you the lie. You can submit application in person to the Chinese embassy or consulate in Philippines according to consular jurisdiction.
I was extended an a job offer from a Chinese company. I am an American currently in China on a Chinese "F" Visa that expires on November 24, 2009. I just completed my medical exam on Friday and expect the results some time next week. My prospective employer said that I can sign the contract and begin the work permit application process once the medical exam results are posted and are acceptable. I fear that these results will come after November 24th. Can I remain in China to complete this process, even after my current visa expires or is there something I need to do to get an emergency extension of my visa? Please help! Thanks
Hi, I am an American in the US married to a Chinese Citizen. I want to apply for a Chinese marriage visa so that I can stay in China with my wife. I have read the information about the process and understand it but how do I satisfy the "Affadavit of Single Status" requirement? I am not single as in the eyes of the US I am married to my wife but I want to be married to her in the eyes of China also. Thanks, John
yes, I think you can travel to China on a Non-machine readable passport. As I know, Philippines begins to change its non-machine readable passport to machine readable passport.
I m travelling to hongkong for business purpose for about 14 days and then i would like to roam there for about 7 days along with my Family.. do i need to take visa directly from India or they would give me visa for 21 days on arrival.. I am a Indian Citizen.. Pl. reply
Nov. 21,2009 20:24 Mr.John Nash(USA) replied:
You should apply for a visa to Hong Kong at Chinese Embassy in New Dehli, India. please submit application directly to the visa office of Chinese embassy.
It regularly takes 4 working days for visa processing at Chinese Embassy in New Delhi. However, do you see the information above, if you hold oridinary Indian passport, you have to send the visa application to Chinese Visa Application Service Center rather than the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi. You'd better call the CVASC to ask the processing time. This service center will submit application to the embassy together. It hasn't right to take part in the examination and approval of visa application.
I have been issued a work visa in China which is valid up to my passport's validity (Sept 2010). However, since I have to renew my passport in March (at least six months before expiry), I would like to know if my visa which is stamped in my old passport is still going to be honored with my new passport.
I am confused because based on past work assignments abroad, valid visas stamped in my old passports were still honored with the new passport but I am advised that this doesn't apply in China. Please help!
Any advise on this one will be greatly appreciated.
Nov. 21,2009 04:43 Mr.Benjamin replied:
Your Chinese visa will expire automatically once your passport is renewed.
Ms.Lorna, your work visa stamped on your old passport is still honored with your new passport. Please bring your old passport and new passport together. If you are still worried about it, you can go to the local Public Security Office in China and apply for a new work visa on your new passport.
I want to know if there is a possibility of getting me 6 months visa to China. My husband lives there and i want to go and visit him for atleast 5 to 6 months.
You can apply for work visa as dependant family members. Then you can stay in China as long as your husband stays. Please provide the following documents: 1. you original passport valid for at least 9 months and at least 2 blank visa pages left. 2. one completely filled visa application form of people's republic of China attached with one recent passport photo 3. the copy of your husband's work visa and temporary residence permit in China 4. the marriage certificate 5. other documents required by the consular officers Sometimes, the visa officer only issue a tourist visa to aliens in the same situation although you can provide all documents for work visa as dependants. I don't know the reason. It is up to their decision.
I am currently working here in south korea for a visa through is expiration last year 2008 june, So it's possible to visit in china without a visa and working to hongkong. I would appreciate ur help thank you?
You can't visit China without a visa or work in Hong Kong. You overstay in South Korea for over one year, it is illegal. I'm afriad that you have to pay much fine and get some punishment by the South Korea Immigration Office when you exit South Korea
I just wanna ask regarding my passport..My husband and I(both Filipinos) are working here in China for 3 years now..We got married last August 17, 2009 in the Philippines and came back in China in Aug 19, 2009..I had no enough time to go to DFA and change my last name and status. Is it possible to do it here?
I think you can change your last name and status at the Filipino Embassy or Consulate in China, where do you live in China? There are different consular districts for the embassy or consulate.
I shall be visiting Shanghai and Hong Kong from a cruise ship in February and need a multiple entry Visa. Please advise where I may obtain one in Costa Rica.
I don't think you need a visa to Hong Kong, as far as I know, citizens of Costa Rica enjoy 30 days visa free to Hong Kong. You need a visa to Shanghai, China. You can apply for it at the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica.
I am a US citizen living and working in Russia. I would like to apply for a tourist visa for China. Could you please clarify the following for me? In a previous response it was stated: "If you travel by self-help tour, the hotel reservation and round air ticket are required" Does this mean that I can submit my airline reservation and a copy of my online hotel booking in place of an invitation letter from a Government recognized tour agency? Or do I still need a separate invitation? If so, how do I fin a government-recognized tour agency? Thanks
